She treats him like his on-air "dad." He mentors her with the highs and lows of AM radio broadcasting. Veteran broadcaster Joe Taruc and Love Radio’s resident playful secretary Sexy Terry, is now DzRH’s fresh new tandem heard on the top-rating AM radio program "Damdaming Bayan."

Combining the wisdom of a seasoned news anchor and the youthful enthusiasm of a budding reporter, the show airs from 7:45 to 9 a.m, Mondays to Saturdays.

"Natakot talaga ako at first when I heard that I’ll be teaming up with Sir Joe, siyempre institusyon na po siya e. But after our first meeting, all my fears were erased, he has become a great mentor to me since then, para ko nang tatay," shares 24 year-old Karen "Sexy Terry" Golfo, who provides the fresh, young idealism to Taruc’s hard-hitting socio-commentary public affairs program.

Karen’s daunting assignment to co-host the radio news show is a big shift from her DJ stint with Mega Manila’s No. 1 FM station Love Radio 90.7.

‘’From my naughty secretary persona sa Love Radio, I had to be a bit serious for this show. Naging broader ang perspective ko sa mga current issues because I know this would reflect dun sa mga young listeners ng ‘Damdaming Bayan,’ Karen points out.

Imagine the intimidation she initially felt interviewing the country’s top political stalwarts like Loren Legarda, Joker Arroyo, Manny Viilar and even US Ambassador Kirstie Kinney.

"Kinikilig pa rin talaga ako every time these leaders mention my name, because I can’t believe na I had the chance to talk to them and ask them questions that I know the youth of today are curious to know," she gushes.

Feedback from the show’s listeners nationwide has been encouraging, Karen says, as they hear Taruc laugh more often. "They get a glimpse of his softer, father-figure side," she notes.

"Damdaming Bayan" has won numerous awards including Best Public Affairs Program in the prestigious Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards for serving as a venue for the Filipino people to air their concerns and grievances to the government with the hope that these concerns will be acted upon immediately.
