SOME good things never really last. This holds true in the case of Jolina Magdangal and long-time steady Bebong Munoz. After eight years, they decided to call it quits. This came as a shock to many especially to those who expected them to tie the knot anytime soon. Actually, days before the singer-actress confirmed their break-up on national television, her father Jun already made an earlier announcement regarding the matter.

"It's true that we're off. In fairness to my dad, before he made the announcement, he asked my permission first. I did consent because I knew all road leads there," avers the talented star.

It wasn't obvious that she was broken-hearted all along.

"Maybe, it helps that I'm basically a jolly individual plus I diverted my attention to work. There was SOP, Dear Friend. I thought that not just because I'm lonely I would affect the people surrounding me, especially in the workplace. I still wanted the atmosphere to be happy.

"If for example, I'm with a group and I suddenly felt heavy, I would just leave. I'm not the type who'd tell the details to everyone in order to gain sympathy. Even though I was hurting so badly, I kept quiet. People around me didn't have any inkling as to what's happening. In fact, when I was alone in the house, I really prayed hard for peace of mind. "

Jolina is grateful that during those grueling times, her family respected her need for space and time.

"Actually, my folks don't ask. They're not meddlesome ever since. They perfectly know when I really need their advice and guidance. In fact, when they went up to our place in Tagaytay on December 26, I purposely didn't go with them. I stayed because I was itching to clean my room alone, something which I haven't done in the past. But during that particular time, I knew I had to clean up all the mess in my room and it helped in a way clearing my mind.

"On the 28th, I followed them. When we were eating, I broke the sad news to them. Of course, they were surprised but didn't probe deeper on the matter like what caused our split up. They just asked when it started. I'm proud and thankful to my family, specially my parents for giving me the time and space I badly needed during those times. They knew I had to find some peace and quiet," continues Jolens.

Many are curious how she'll face 2009 after her failed romance with Bebong.

"Although my 2008 didn't end on a positive note, I just want to stay and think positive this New Year. The past year was a difficult year for Bebong and me, individually and as a couple. But I don't want to harbor ill feelings about what happened and carry it over in my life this 2009. Even if it hurts, I have to remain positive and learn to cope alone. For me, 2009 should be a fresh start. I still want to wake up each morning with a clear and positive outlook. "

Eight years is still eight years.

"Yes! And that's what makes it harder. But as I've said, it shouldn't be a stumbling block in my life. I have to move on. I need not hear what other people have to say regarding the probable reason behind our break up. Life goes on for me. "

CARLENE GETTING MARRIED?
ACCORDING to Carlene Aguilar, she and former lover Dennis Trillo have remained friends for the sake of their son Calix. "Actually, I liked our shooting in Bukidnon better than Australia . I'm a nature lover and love the outdoor so much. It was perfect. There was no electricity around but still, its beauty is overwhelming. I'm sure the viewers will love the breathtaking scenery in the movie. In fact, Angel and me promised to visit the place again in the future during our free time," the good-looking actor said.

Apart from "Love Me Again," PJ will also be busy with his self-produced indie film "Maynila " which will be exhibited commercially in March.

"Yes! I'm just waiting for "Love Me Again" to be shown before I release "Maynila. " I'm proud of its turnout after I watched the final cut. I'm really glad that I did the project. I hope it will receive warm reception from the viewers. "
