| | Jon Avila on Valerie Concepcion: 'She's mabait... gusto ko siya' Author: Manila Santos After taking on the persona of Kapitan Boom for TV, Jon Avila tackles a different role as part of the Metro Manila Film Fest entry One Night Only, where he is paired with Valerie Concepcion. The two reportedly got really cozy while doing the movie. "Kasi meron kaming eksena sa ilalim ng kumot so ang tagal tagal ni direk na sumigaw ng 'Action!' so nasa ilalim kami ng kumot. Wala lang, chika-chika lang," the Fil-Irish billboard model clarifies.
The Coverboys member says it's not hard to be attracted to the bubbly Wowowee host. "She's mabait, ang taas ng energy at maganda siyempre. Mabait yun, gusto ko siya. She's nice to me," he admits. But Jon is also quick to dispel any chances of him courting her at the moment. "Siyempre araw-aarw siya nasa Wowowee so wala siyang oras for mga boylets like me (laughs). Hindi, joke lang," he says in jest.
The model-turned-actor, who has heard that Valerie's good at cooking, also has a request on what dish he would like her to prepare for him. "Siguro adobo. Paborito ko ang adobo, chicken adobo. Yun lang. Or roasted chicken. She can give me adobo and kanin na half cup," he says with a smile.
Although admittedly single at the moment, Jon says he won't be lonely this Christmas. "It's not going to be a cold Christmas. Kung naka-costume ako, mainit 'di ba? (laughs). Depende sa premiere night namin sa 22 (for One Night Only). So we'll see each other there. Siguro katabi ko siya so..." he says mischievously. Even though he is open to dating, Jon says he still doesn't want to get into a relationship at this point of his life. "I'm not looking for anything kasi I'm just free to roam to do anything," he says matter-of-factly.
Jon also looks forward to spending Christmas playing Santa Claus to some less fortunate kids. "For Christmas day, me and my mom are going to Bulacan para magbigay ng mga regalo sa mga bata na mahihirap, mga batang kalye. Madaming blessings sa akin so I want to give back naman," he says. Jon also explains why he chose to share his blessings with the children. "Kasi they have a long life ahead of them naman, so I want na when they look back and want to remember Christmas when they're older, may maaalala silang maganda," he adds. Jon knows that he is very lucky when it came to his career. "After I joined Pinoy Big Brother, I signed up with Star Magic tapos guested on shows, then napasok ako sa Coverboys. Ang dami-daming mga blessings sa akin sa 2008," he recalls.
