KC Concepcion shares her bonding moments with sisters Frankie and Miel

Despite her hectic work schedule, KC Concepcion always tries to find time to bond with her younger siblings Frankie and Miel. "I pick them up from school. Gustong-gusto nila makita 'pag ako yung mag-dra-drive. Kilig na kilig sila dun and I put on my music and sila yung nagbubutingting sa mga buttons doon sa car. So mahilig sila 'pag kaming tatlo lang yung nasa kotse," she shares during her October 27 guesting on Boy & Kris.

The doting Ate also lets Frankie have fun in something as simple as a drive-through run. " Ang favorite ni Frankie ngayon is magdra-drive through kami sa isang coffee shop and gustong-gusto niya 'pag may speaker. Uupo siya sa harap tapos siya yung mag-pre-press ng window button para bumaba. Sasabihin niya, 'Hi, can I have one coffee medium for my Ate please?" Gaganun siya and alam na nila na siya yun (laughs). Kasi sabi ko sa kanya, 'You can break rules when you're with Ate Tina.' Ate Tina tawag niya sa akin. Yun yung bonding moments namin," she says with a smile.

KC is also very protective of her two siblings, wishing them both to grow up with strong personalities. " Siguro what I want for both of them is na hindi [ sila] matakot, there are things na mas mahirap namin gawin because kilala kami or baka sobrang tagal na ni mom dito sa industry na ito and marami na ring nakakailala sa pamilya namin. Sana hindi sila ma-intimidate at maging confident sila sa sarili nila na kaya nila gawin kahit anong gusto nila gawin. That they grow up to be happy little girls. Unafraid, fearless," she tells hosts Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino. She also told the hosts how she tries to spoil her mom, Megastar Sharon Cuneta. "I give her things also. I text her a lot. My first big splurge para sa kanya was a Chanel bag kasi favorite brand niya rin yun," she states.

After the success of her debut movie For The First Time, the 23-year-old actress admits that she feels very blessed and is looking forward to her next movie slated for a Valentine release next year. "I feel very, very grateful sa ABS-CBN talaga and for my next movie with GMA films I'm very thankful also na the two stations nagkabati even just for a while para doon," she says.

KC says that is she isn't that afraid to make mistakes anymore, especially when it comes to acting. "Before oo, pero ngayon medyo nag-warm up na rin ako. Tinuruan naman ako ni Direk Joyce (Bernal) na magkaroon ng konting tiwala sa sarili at tiwala sa ibang tao na kasama naming magtrabaho. Siguro tuwang-tuwa ako na marami akong nami-meet na taong mababait at supportive sa trabaho na ito," she admits. KC is also optimistic about her next movie project. " Sana maging kasing successful siya as For The First Time and na magustuhan siya ng tao in the same way or better," she says.

After spending four years in the AmericanUniversity of Paris getting her college education studying International Corporate Communications with a minor in Theatre Arts, KC says she enjoyed occasionally getting lost in the famed City of Lights. " Gustong-gusto ko yun 'pag naliligaw ako. Dun mo makikita yung mga pasikot-sikot. Sa Paris, ang pinaka-magic ng city na yun, yung maliliit na mga eskinita and mga stores na hindi pinag-uusapan ng mga turista. May bisikleta din po ako nun," she recalls.

The pretty multi-product endorser also shares a bit of her domestic side. " Kapampangan yung mother's side ko so we like having food around. Kinailangan ko matutunan yung seafood dishes because I only eat fish and seafood. I don't eat beef, chicken or pork so ang hirap kumain ng masarap na meals na isda and seafood kung hindi ka marunong mag-experiment and iba-iba. So I'm starting to learn different recipes like Thai style na fish or grilled tuna with sesame sauce tapos may gulay," she explains. The self-confessed coffee lover also admits to one of her ultimate pet peeves. " Ayaw na ayaw ko yung iniiba yung timpla ng kape ko. No one messes with my coffee. I like it black and paminsan-minsan lang talaga yung may cream. Black with artificial sweetener, that's it," she stresses.

Currently single, KC admits that it takes a special kind of man to win her heart, especially with her family's reputation and showbiz involvement. " Yung mas mahirap for me is makahanap ng lalaki na hindi mai-intimidate sa ganun. Kasi may mga honest din naman na dumadating sa buhay ko na kinakausap ako na nagsasabi, ' Alam mo nakakatakot magkamali kasi baka magalit yung buong Pilipinas sa akin (laughs)' and nakakalungkot. Wala naman akong magawa kung ganun talaga and may nakakaramdam ng ganun because you have to accept me for who I am. Ito yung buhay ko, ito yung kinalakihan ko, ito yung mga nangyayari sa akin. In the same way na baka sa buhay din niya, feeling ko may mga nangyayari na hindi ko rin ma-reach. So it's just a matter of accepting and seeing na normal na tao lang. So siguro sa love life, kailangan ko pa mahanap yung one guy na confident sa sarili niya at sa meron siya, kung sino siya," she explains.

The For The First Time actress also admitted that all it takes is just a simple kind of guy to make her happy. " 'Pag pinakita niya yung pagkatao niya, kung ano yung mga hilig niya and hindi siya nahihiya. Yung kahit naka-tsinelas lang siya, naka-shorts lang siya tapos sumbrero, T-shirt, yung habang ako naka-high heels at nakabihis okay lang sa kanya," she muses. Although marriage is far from her mind at the moment, KC also has one wish for her future wedding. " Ang biggest wish ko for when I get married is that I get married for the right reasons. Na hindi dahil kailangan dahil may nangyari or something," she adds.

After releasing her album A.K.A. Kassandra earlier this year, KC hopes to get a chance to collaborate with former Rivermaya vocalist Rico Blanco in her next musical endeavor. " Gusto kong makatrabaho si Rico Blanco for my next album because I respect him as a musician. He's doing great things now for the music industry na matagal na niya sigurong kayang gawin pero now is the right time for him so he's seizing the opportunity," she says.
