Kapuso afternoon soaps get primetime ratings

PEP: GMA-7 afternoon soaps Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan and Magdusa Ka continue to dominate the daytime race, but what's amazing about this is that they generate primetime ratings.

Yesterday, July 31, Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan posted a whopping 27.2 percent while Magdusa Ka got 24.6 percent-figures that are even higher than most primetime programs-to take the first two spots.

Magdusa Ka also topped the daytime race Tuesday (July 29) and Wednesday (July 30) with 23 percent and 21.9 percent, respectively. Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan ranked second Tuesday (22.5 percent) but slipped to third place Wednesday (20.3 percent) behind Eat Bulaga's 21.8 percent.

The longest-running noontime show in the country, Eat Bulaga!, ranked third Tuesday and Thursday while Daisy Siete consistently paced fourth.

El Cuerpo del Deseo and Wowowee are in a neck-to-neck race for the fifth and sixth spots.

Meanwhile, Dyesebel maintains its lead in the primetime race; followed by fellow Kapuso shows Codename: Asero, 24 Oras, and Ako Si Kim Samsoon.

ABS-CBN's lyrics show The Singing Bee came in fifth Tuesday and Wednesday while TV Patrol World held that position Thursday.

Iisa Pa Lamang, My Girl, and Pinoy Dream Academy are engaged in very a tight race that they even tied at No. 6 last Wednesday with identical 22.3 percent rating.

Here are the comparative TV ratings of ABS-CBN and GMA-7 shows from July 29 to 31 based on the overnight ratings conducted by AGB Nielsen Philippines among Mega Manila households:
