Karylle defends dad

UNTIL now, the cause of controversial break-up of Karylle and Dingdong Dantes remains wooly.

Some names are being dragged in the issue, but one name Karylle wants to strip off the fiasco is her father - Modesto Tatlonghari.

Contrary to reports that Modesto disapproves the couple's relationship, the actress-singer said that among the boyfriends she had, Dingdong was the only man her father has ever liked for her.

"It is not true that my father rejects Dingdong," she said. "My dad never likes any of my past boyfriends. I had three relationships before but Dingdong was the only guy he approved for me."

Karylle appealed not to implicate her father in the issue, saying Modesto is a private person. "I really don't want to talk about my father's reaction on the break-up. Clearing his name over the issue is enough." Still business partners

Aside from being lovers, Karylle and Dingdong have also been business partners since the time they were together.

Although they broke up, Karylle said she will have the same business relationship with his ex.

"It's doing better than ever," she said pertaining to their business. "We're not really the one who manages the business. We have managing partners and they handle it."

She said she has separate shares from Dingdong, thus any problem between them would not affect their relationship with regards to business. "We have separate shares so that's fine."

Aside from videoke bars, Karylle and Dingdong also recently acquired a franchise of a Chinese restaurant. (JRDB/Sunnex)
