| | Karylle keeps mum on Marian Rivera's 'pregnancy' Author: Trina Lagura
Column: Entertainment Newest Kapamilya star Karylle on Sunday kept silent when asked whether she believed that Marian Rivera and former boyfriend Dingdong Dantes are allegedly expecting a baby.
During "The Buzz's Tough 10 Questions," host Boy Abunda asked Karylle the most difficult question among the 10, which was: "I know you have nothing to do with this pero sabi ko nga kasama ka sa kwentong ito, sa iyong pagkakaalam, Karylle, buntis ba si Marian Rivera?"
As her reply, the singer said nothing and smilingly stared back at Abunda.
Karylle and Dantes broke up after three years of being together amid rumors that the latter was already dating Rivera, his leading lady in a television series.
Karylle repeatedly denied that Rivera was the cause of the break-up
"I think kami lang ni 'Dong ang makakalam talaga kung bakit kami naghiwalay. I mean we can explain and explain but it will never be fully sufficient. And I think even to this day, we don't understand why we broke up. So, parang how can you even explain it to other person?" she said.
She said, as far as she was concerned, when they called it quits Dantes and Rivera were not together.
"I don't know now [if they have a relationship]. I haven't asked," she said.
When further prodded if she would ask him about it: she said: "No more na, I don't need to know."
She said she chose to believe that Dantes had been faithful to her when they were still together.
On rumors that she once threatened Dantes that she would break up with him if he kissed Rivera when the two had a concert, Karylle denied it. She, however, admitted that she did ask Dantes not to kiss Rivera.
"Ang sa akin kasi when it's work, it's work, but maybe, you know, you can make a simple request like that. After all it's not naman acting... I mean it wasn't a soap, it was a concert, for me kasi it's different," she said.
She said her former boyfriend did not accede to her request but "he was very, very apologetic about that" after the show.
Karylle also clarified that she never confronted Rivera after learning about the rumor between her and Dantes.
Meanwhile, the singer said she is happy that her mother, singer Zsa Zsa Padilla, is helping and guiding her after moving to ABS-CBN.
"Alam mo 'yon having her by my side, knowing that she's such a great person na everyone loves her, parang it also follows na 'yong kindness niya nababalik sa akin. So, I feel like I belong here. So, I'm really happy." Source: ABS-CBN News |
