| Karylle now officially a Kapamilya![]() Author: Manila P. Santos Arriving in the country early this morning from her stint singing the National anthem during the Pacquiao- Dela Hoya fight last Sunday, singer-actress Karylle went straight to ABS-CBN to sign a one-year contract and become an official Kapamilya. "Thank you sa pag-welcome niyo sa akin. Kasi bagong dating ako from Las Vegas. Kanina ako dumating mga 5 am tapos diretso ako dito tapos nagulat ako kasi ang daming nag-welcome sa akin pagdating ko dito," she shares after the contract signing at the ABS-CBN Executive board room. Karylle insists that the transfer, which was rumored to be fueled by her recent break-up with Dingdong Dantes, was a purely professional move and not a personal decision. The actress, who was one of the main stars of the stage play West Side Story, also decided to change managers this year. "Kasi maraming changes na nangyari sa buhay ko and with that, I also changed management. So now I'm under Stages with Carlo Orosa and Audie Gemora. So since maraming kaguluhang nangyayari, yung career, I just left it up to them to decide and make decisions for that kasi at that time hindi ko talaga maisip kahit ano pang ibang bagay. So I trust them completely and I know that they're very capable of making the right decision for me so nung sinabi nila na lilipat ako, I trusted it and I'm very, very happy. It's really the right decision. It's a lot of different things, hindi lang naman yun kasi, yung ibang tao feeling nila yun lang yung dahilan pero more than anything, it's a career decision. " she stresses. The very public break-up, which was unexpected news to everyone in the industry, was something that Karylle had to focus on, which was why she let her management decide for her. "Yung sa akin kasi, I dealt with my own personal issues. And yung professional issues, I left it up to other people because kung ipagsasabay ko pa yung dalawang yun, siyempre mahirap na papairalin mo yung gusto mo because sometimes you may make the wrong decisions. Sila kasi, from a business perspective yung tingin nila sa problema so sila na lang yung bahala. 'Di ba sabi ng mga tao huwag kang gagawa ng desisiyon pag galit na galit ka or kung sobrang saya kasi minsan wala ka sa tamanag pag-iisip. Eh masasabi ko na at that time, wala ako sa tamang pag-iisip (laughs). So sabi ko sila na lang ang bahala. Siyempre nung time na yun madaming emotions na medyo matindi. Sabi ko sa ibang tao ko na lang ipapaubaya ito," she confides. But this move doesn't mean that Karylle wants Dingdong to totally disappear from her life. "Parati ko nga siya nakikita kung saan-saan. (laughs). It's such a small world. Lalo na pag sinabi mong sa world of entertainment, it's a small group of people lang so talagang you end up bumping into people," she adds. Karylle, who was previously handled by Angeli Pangilinan under Genesis Entertainment, says that there is no bad blood between her and her former manager. "At that time kasi that I was doing the West Side Story, parang I felt very, very comfortable being around all of them (sa Stages). We we're there almost everyday for the play siguro for about three months. And si Tita Angeli, she remains an advisor. I just did nga Gary V. Live at 25 so we're still very much on good terms. She will always be very special to me. I've known her since I was small kasi si Tito Gary has always been the partner of my mom so maganda pa rin yung relationship ng pamilya nila at pamilya namin," she clarifies. The eldest daughter of Zsa Zsa Padilla shares she also consulted with both her parents on her recent career move. "Of course. Parati ko naman sila kinikuwentuhan sa lahat ng nangyari. My dad's very, very happy for me. Wala siya now, he's in the States and sabi niya mapapanuod naman daw niya ako sa TFC sugurado," she says. The 27-year-old host also says that she has no ill feelings towards her former network. "Naging maganda naman yung pagpaalam. Tita Wilma Galvante was very sweet. Kasi at that time, we were still looking forward to the Pacquiao fight. Tapos sabi niya ganito dapat yung damit mo para hindi ka mahirapan pumasok sa ring, mag-earplugs ka para hindi mo marinig yung mga tao na nag-bu-boo, so little things like that," she recalls. Aside from being launched as the newest member of the ASAP family this coming December 14, Karylle will also be included in the forthcoming Kristine Hermosa series Maruja, which airs next year. But apart from these projects, what Karylle looks forward to the most is finally being able to perform regularly with her mom Zsa Zsa Padilla on ASAP every Sunday. "I'm very, very excited. Siyempre matagal na namin yun ginagawa sa concerts and mall shows pero yung sa TV talaga on a regular basis, hindi naming nagagawa. Every time I'm on stage with her, it's such a nice feeling kasi. Iba yung feeling pag you're singing with someone you love talaga eh. I think the audience feels it too. It's something very special and we'll get to share that finally with everyone," she says. Now that she's in a new home (network), will she also be ready for a new love? "Ay, (laughs). Saka na lang po yung love," Karylle says with a smile.
