Column: Entertainment MANILA - Singer Karylle turned emotional as she told reporters on Thursday about the death of her favorite pet dog Jack Sparrow, a grey shih tzu. Karylle, who has been recovering from her breakup with actor Dingdong Dantes, tried to hold back tears as she shared the tragic news. "Today, siyempre namatay ang dog ko. Kaya may bago akong sadness, scar. Nasagasaan kasi siya... medyo nagkagulo-gulo ngayon. So kung nakikita niyo akong sad, please huwag niyong isipin na dahil pa din doon (kay Dingdong)," Karylle said. Karylle said Jack was not a gift from her ex-boyfriend, but rather a puppy of Karylle's salt-and-pepper haired shih tzu named Kung Fu, who was given to Karylle as a present by her former castmates from a rival network. She considered the pet to be the "best gift ever." Karylle, a self-confessed animal lover, said she likes dogs because "they will just be there to love you." She has appeared in advertisements and events for animal welfare group PAWS or the Philippine Animal Welfare Society. Currently, Karylle is a mainstay of "All Star Afternoon Party (ASAP'09)" and is busy taping for ABS-CBN's upcoming television series "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" which premieres this coming August 24, Monday.
