Karylle talks about the moving on and moving forward in StarStudio's January issue

Author: Manila P. Santos

With her sexy billboards strategically seen all over the metro, Karylle also graces the cover of StarStudio, the Philippines' largest-selling entertainment magazine in their first issue for the year. The singer turned actress confides about what she she feels about her former boyfriend of three years, Dingdong Dantes. "He said he wanted to be my best friend. I'm not prepared to be friends. Honestly, at this point, I think it would be best if we don't try to be friends yet. I don't want it to be a premature thing. Later on siguro. I just don't want to force it right now. It might not be the right time. Feeling ko, if we force it now, we'd never want to be friends in the future," Karylle shares in SSM's January cover story. The 27-year old also shares her favorite memories she with Dingdong like when he first courted her, their vacations together with her family, and how he got her hooked on running.
Karylle doesn't deny that it wasn't an easy process for her to move forward from the breakup. "At one point, I wasn't ready to speak (about what happened). I gathered my thoughts and tried to let everything settle down, and then when I was ready, that's when I started to speak. There was a period when I would cry. The crying phase wasn't so bad naman na I'd cry myself to sleep at night," she recalls.
Karylle describes what led to their separation as a slow death. "But it didn't happen overnight. It took weeks. There was a period na we were still trying to save it. It's been three years, which on the whole were very good years naman," she admits.
The pretty actress sought comfort by attending retreats and healing sessions to aid her during this tough time. "People have this notion that I'm very religious, I guess because I went on retreats and I've done a lot of praying. But because at this point especially, I thought I'd be hiding under a rock or with my family in Vegas. But actually, I feel fine. I don't understand how I can be this strong. It's the grace of God na lang talaga siguro," she says.
