| Katrinas woes pile up![]() Author: Ethel Ramos Katrina Halili dispels the report that she considered taking her life due to the much-publicized sex video scandal involving her. If at all, she is emboldened by the sympathy and encouragement that several people, even those she doesnt know, are giving her. People close to her, however, fear for her. They are thinking of what might happen if and when Katrina feels the financial strain her legal cases will eventually bring her. After all, they know that filing a case requires money and Katrina is merely depending on her savings right now. Katrina has just filed a libel case against Mrs. Irene Kho, who accused Katrina of having influenced her son, Dr. Hayden Kho Jr. to take drugs. She had filed a filed a criminal case citing R.A. 9262, or the "Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Law" against Hayden last week. ***. "Hindi nga siguro ako ligawin," said Sarah Geronimo as a way of explanation to why she still has no boyfriend at age 19. Sarah will turn 20 on July 25, the same date that Dolphy and the late Mina Aragon, wife of Boss Vic del Rosario, mark theirs. "Ano yung napapabalitang nililigawan ka ni ganuon at ganitong young actor?" members of the entertainment press queried. "Nababasa ko rin ho yan," she said. "Pero hanggang doon lang." Not having a boyfriend at her age doesnt bother her a bit, she stressed. Not at this point when her name has become synonymous with multi-awarded albums, top-rating shows and hit movies, earning her the "Box Office Queen" title. Besides, she is so busy. Sarah just arrived from a concert tour in the US with Billy Crawford, Mark Bautista and Charlie Green. Shell go on a Philippine tour starting June 12 up to September 20 with Billy, Mark and Simon Wood. Right now, what keeps her busy is promoting her new DVD, the recording of "The Next One" concert at the Araneta Coliseum last year. Among the "The Next Ones" highlights are scenes of Sarah playing the piano and her duet with Backstreet Boys member Howie D. Some of her performances with her special guests, such as Billy C., Jed Madela, Rayver Cruz, Shaina Magdayao, Maja Salvador and John Lloyd Cruz, are featured in the DVD. *** Two issues that John Lloyd Cruz begged the entertainment press not to ask him are his supposed break-up with girlfriend of three years, Liz Dy, and his rumored involvement with Ruffa Gutierrez. He did admit that he would have wanted Liz with him in New York. But, on second thought, he felt he would not been able to attend to her much as he would want to had she gone with him because he would be busy working. He was in New York to film the movie, "In My Life," with Vilma Santos and Luis Manzano. On the other hand, Liz is on a European tour with Anne Curtis, cousins Isabelle Diaz-Daza and Georgina Wilson, and Raymond Gutierrez, Ruffas brother. John is back from his trip abroad, while Liz has yet to arrive. On to another issue, he has denied that Ruffa as well as Sarah Geronimo have anything to do with whatever problem he and Liz may be having right now. *** Do you know that Ruffa and John Lloyd share the same birth date: June 24? But there is a big difference between their ages. Ruffa is in her mid-30s; John Lloyd is turning 26 on June 24. Call it coincidence but both Ruffa and John Lloyd are celebrating their birthdays abroad. Ruffa is leaving for the States with her parents, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, and her two children. John Lloyd will appear at a concert with some of his fellow Star Magic talents in California. *** TV newscaster Vicky Morales won a nomination as Darling of the Movie Press in the recently-concluded 25th Star Awards of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC). Unfortunately, she failed to score a win. The trophy went to Quezon City Vice Mayor Herbert Bautista. Aside from her public affairs show, "Saksi," on GMA 7, Vicky has another show, "Wish Ko Lang," which features people and their wishes for themselves or others, wishes that are sometimes simple and, thus, she is able to grant herself. Vickys recent feature was former beauty queen and actress Aurora Sevilla, who is so poor she can hardly pay her electric bills. She has two children, one of whom, according to Aurora, has a father who belongs to the royal family of an Asian country. Source: Malaya |
