Magdusa Ka has a reversal of roles for lead performers Dennis Trillo and Katrina Halili. Dennis throws his boy-next-door image in favor of the playboy character named Rod (played by Christopher de Leon in the movie) who came from the slums. He hopes the transition will give him an acting award in the near future. Ditto with Katrina, the sexy villainess in MariMar now becomes the lead character Cristine, played in the movie by Dina Bonnevie.

Magdusa is also a reunion of sorts for former Seiko stars, Gardo Versoza, Anton Bernardo and Rita Avila.

Completing the cast are Liza Lorena, Ana Capri, Rich Asuncion, Blue Mark Roces, Shirley Dalton, Gabby Eigenmann, Jackie Lou Blanco and Iwa Moto as the ultimate contravida Millet, a role that should not be difficult for her to do.

On its first week, Dennis easily shone as Rod. He departs from his clean image, and we think he truly is a good actor.
