Kin deny Dingdong an 'illegitimate son'

Young actor Dingdong Dantes' blood relatives have vehemently denied he is an illegitimate son.

"No, he's not even an adopted one," said Jose Marlon Z. Dantes, a former member of the Philippine Air Force and a younger brother of Dingdong's dad Jose Sixto Z. Dantes, Jr., a former officer of the Philippine Coast Guard.

"Dingdong is a biological son of our brother. We should know. We grew up together, and he was always here in our house when he married our sister-in-law, Angelene," stressed Marlon, who lives in their ancestral house in 4th Avenue in Cubao, a few meters away from Camp Crame.

This is the place where Chris Dantes, a nephew of the late international arnis action star Roland Dantes, said that a lady, whose first name he can't recall but whose surname is Gonzales, allegedly got into a relationship with Roland. Roland reportedly got Gonzales pregnant while they were in Australia.

The child Gonzales was heavy with was, Dingdong, or Jose Sixto G. Dantes III in real life, according to Chris.

Dingdong's middle initial stands for Gonzales.

"No such thing happened in our house," said Marlon, referring to Roland's relations with Gonzales.

"Dingdong's mom speaks pure Spanish. And she's very beautiful. She's got fair skin. Maputi, di ba? Sa kanya nagmana si Dingdong, no doubt about it," affirmed Marlon.

Chris commented in our interview that the Danteses on Dingdong's side are not tall, unlike them. "Tito Roland is very tall. I am tall. I stand five feet and ten inches. Dingdong is also tall. According to him, he's a six-footer. The Danteses on his side aren't tall. And their features are different from ours although we are cousins," he said.

"No, our elder brother Jigg (Jose Sixto Z. Dantes, Jr.'s pet name) is neither short nor tall. Tama lang. Matangkad nga siya kung tutuusin. We aren't tall but we aren't short either. Intriga lang 'yan," said Marlon.

He said he heard of the allegation before and he just shrugged it off. "Ganyan talaga. Show biz, e. Walang kaso 'yan. It's just to make a scene," said Marlon.

"Ano lang 'yan, gusto lang sumakay sa isyu," he said, demonstrating how one soars through easy publicity at the expense of someone else.
