Korina: Walang makakagamit sa akin kundi si Sen. Mar

Column: Check It Out

WHILE the issue of Korina Sanchez and Sen. Mar Roxas' coming out on "Wowowee" created a big fuss among showbiz people, it certainly had a positive impact on the audience.

For them, it didn't matter that they came out on another show, other than SNN. What's important was the fact that Korina and Sen. Mar became more open about themselves. And the fact that they're not teen idols and yet, their appearance on the show created quite a bang, the interest was most welcome, especially for Korina. "Wherever I go, they ask me, 'O, kelan ba ang kasal talaga?' and I'd say, 'abangan n'yo na lang,' It's overwhelming," the beautiful broadcaster (who's destined to be First Lady?) said.

Somehow, we were able to get some details about their wedding: Korina's designer-friend, Pepito Albert will do the wedding gown, while well-known designer Cary Santiago from Cebu City will do her dress for the despedida de soltera. "Definitely, we want it to be a church wedding, not a beach or a garden," revealed Korina.

The menu at the reception include the best entrees from different regions: ham from Cagayan de Oro, lechon from Cebu, laing from Bicol, curachas from Zamboanga, etcetera. Mouth watering, indeed, just like the news about the wedding.

But still, detractors say Sen. Mar is simply using Korina and her well-built mass appeal to win in the election next year. "Naku, hindi mawawala ang intrigang 'yan," said Korina.

"Walang makakagamit sa akin kung hindi ko gusto. At si Mar lang ang may K na gumamit sa 25 years na hinubog kong relasyon sa taumbayan. Dahil siya ay marangal, malinis, walang anomalya, matalino, masipag at may puso para sa mahihirap. Guwapo pa. "
