Kris sore at Mar and Korina

Kris Aquino said she felt used after Korina Sanchez, with whom she used to host a morning talk show, promised her that she and boyfriend Sen. Mar Roxas would exclusively announce their engagement in her show with Boy Abunda but it turned out Korina and Mar preferred to air their declarations of love for one another in the noontime show "Wowowee." "Napahiya ako kay Boy kasi kinausap ko na siyang alagaan namin ang supposed-to-be exclusive series of interviews namin with them for ‘The Buzz’ and ‘SNN,’" she says. "They say hindi nila kasalanan at hindi nila kontrolado ang sitwasyon. The night before they guested in ‘Wowowee,’ they texted me if it’s okay raw. Alangan namang sabihin kong don’t. Sana man lang, hinati ‘yung guesting nila sa ‘Wowowee’ at sa amin kasi five weeks na namin silang hinihintay. I felt we were used then discarded."

To make amends, Korina and Mar sent her flower arrangements a few days later with a letter apologizing to her. Boy told her not to touch the Mar-Korina issue for a while.

As for Korina and Mar, they don’t want to talk about Kris’ "tampo." "Mag-uusap na lang kami and for sure, kilala namin si Kris na maunawain, she’ll understand our situation," says Korina.

But so far, she’s happy that she heard so many positive reactions about her and Mar’s guesting in "Wowowee," even among other politicians. What can she say about her being a future first lady?

"Napakaaga namang mag-isip nang ganyan," she says. "As of now, happy lang kaming napatunayan namin sa mga taong matagal nang naghihintay at umaasa na kami ni Mar, talagang nagmamahalan. Hintayin na lang natin ang susunod na kabanata as we owe the public truth. Mangyayari at mangyayari ang kasalang hinihintay nating lahat."

Korina adds that she’ll soon go on leave from her work on TV and radio to prepare for their wedding that will definitely happen this year. We’re sure they won’t keep it a secret like Juday and Ryan did as the exposure of their wedding nationwide will be of great help to Mar in his presidential bid.

Although PEP editor Jo-Ann Maglipon already admitted that their witnesses made a subjective mistake in reporting that Richard Gutierrez and Michael Flores had a fight that involved gun-toting at the birthday party of director Mark Reyes on March 28, Richard’s camp says that they will continue to pursue the libel case he filed against PEP. His lawyer, Atty. Angelica Santiago, says the report written by Jo-ann is a mere "divertionary tactic" to mislead the public about the real issue of PEP putting out a false new story. She wants PEP to name their witnesses who started the rumor.

"PEP should be able to present their witnesses because, otherwise, kung hindi nila mapapangalanan ang mga taong ito, we can only conclude that these witnesses are either — like the original story — just a figment of their imagination," she adds.

Meantime, "Zorro" continues to rule the ratings and is often number one on primetime. The story has become even more absorbing when Pepe (Buboy Villar) succeeds in getting the missing mask of Zorro (Richard Gutierrez) from the room of the villain Ramon (TJ Trinidad). Bianca King as Cara has become more daring and attacks a caravan guarded by the guardia civil. Her life is endangered as she fights them but Zorro comes along and helps her.

Zorro learns that Cara is doing this to help the Indios. He later hijacks a caravan of food and drinks from Ramon that he gives to the Indios.

Bella (Maureen Larrazabal) tells Antonio (Richard) that she knows his secret that he is Zorro and gives him a box owned by his real mom, Marcela (Lani Mercado). Cara later robs the house of the rich Pelaez family to whom Antonio belongs. She gets to steal the box Bella gave to Antonio, who as Zorro later asks Cara to return the box to him. They make an appointment but Antonio forgets about it as he helps Juana (Michelle Madrigal) to look for her missing brother, Agustin (Bodie Cruz.)

Valerie Concepcion is being linked to cager Dondon Hontiveros and her mom approves of him.

"We’ve been dating for two years and my mom likes him kasi he’s really very nice," she says. "I really enjoy his company and I’m glad that my family likes him also."

Just like her, Dondon is a single parent. "May anak din siya pero hindi rin siya kasal dun sa mother so legally, he’s free."

So do they already have a commitment to each other?

"None. Ayokong pangunahan at hindi rin ako ang typena mangungulit. As of now, we just enjoy each other’s company. I don’t want to force anything, baka ma-jinx lang."

But how come Dondon is also being linked to Isabel Oli? It’s said he even followed Isabel when she had a vacation in Boracay and she and Isabel are now fighting over the cager? "Close kaming tatlo as friends. Barkada kami. Dondon and Isabel are both from Cebu and they go to the same church. Si Isabel naman, nakasama ko noon sa isang soap when I was still with GMA-7 kaya friend ko rin talaga siya."

So is Dondon wooing Isabel as reported?

"As far as I know, hindi totoo ‘yun. After that Boracay thing came out, tumawag sa’kin si Isabel at humihingi ng pasensiya. Sabi ko naman, okay lang ‘yun. Alam nyo naman sa showbiz, lahat, ginagawan ng intriga. Pero niloko ko pa nga siya. Sabi ko, kung gusto mo talaga siya, sa iyo na siya. Tapos nagtawanan kami."

Valerie has a new leading man, Will Devaughn, in "Precious Heart Romances Present: Bud Brothers."

"We appear in the episode based on the novel ‘Once in a Lifetime.’ Will is Monty, ‘yung babaero sa barkada nila who loves to explore and is always out of town. I play Isabel, cousin ng girlfriend niya who’s asked by her parents to do something para paghiwalayin sila ni Will. Dahil dito, lagi kaming nag-aaway ni Will, but in the end, ako pala at si Will ang mai-in love sa isa’t isa."

Jake Cuenca says Melissa Ricks is just a close friend and it’s not true that he’s courting her.

"I’m not ready to get into another relationship again," he says. "Pinipigilan ko muna ang sarili ko to love again kasi may mga bagay pa akong dapat ayusin sa sarili ko after my past relationships. Hindi pa ako handa. Anyway, 21 pa lang naman ako and I enjoy being single. I think maraming pa kong time in the world to engage in another relationship. Meantime, I’m just happy to be given good projects like ‘Tayong Dalawa’ na marami namang nakapansin sa acting ko."

But if ever he’d be ready to woo someone again, would it be Melissa?

"We don’t know. But anyone can fall for her kasi maganda na siya, mahusay pang umarte at masayang kasama at kausap. Sabi, kailangan daw munang humingi ng permiso sa parents niya bago siya ligawan. I’ve met them and they’re very nice to me, but as of now, wala talaga akong balak ligawan ang kahit sino so wala rin akong balak to ask for her parents’ permission. Kasi if I’d do that, ibig sabihin, serious and ready na ako to get into a new relationship, which I’m not. I’m just too busy with work now."

He’s paired with Cristine Reyes in his new soap, the afternoon offering in ABS-CBN’s Hapontastic, "Precious Hearts Romance Presents: Bud Brothers." He appears in the first episode, "Stupid Cupid," directed by Jerry Sineneng. Cristine plays a single mom who stays temporarily in a home she doesn’t know is owned by Jake. At first, they fight a lot but eventually end up in each other’s arms. How’s it acting with Cristine?

"Mahusay siya, impressed ako. Very intense as an actress and I enjoyed working with her. She’s very cooperative even in the love scenes we did. Masarap katrabaho."

Director Joel Lamangan is grinning from ear to ear. "Fuchsia," the first offering of Sine Direk-APT Entertainment, won best picture in the musical or comedy category in the recent Golden Screen Awards and its main stars, Gloria Romero and Eddie Garcia, won as best musical or comedy actress and actor respectively.

"Magandang buena mano," he says.

Isn’t he scared that his new movie, "Heavenly Touch," faces tough competition at the box office with the Sharon Cuneta-Ai Ai de las Alas comedy "BFF"?

"Magkaiba naman ang market nila. ‘Yung mahilig sa comedy, ‘di sa kanila. Those who go for sex-drama, watch sila ng ‘Heavenly Touch’ at hindi sila mabibigo."

"Heavenly Touch" is about masseurs. Didn’t he feel daunted that Dante Mendoza has done a similar film before, "Masahista," than even won awards abroad?

"Ano bang hindi? Siempre, inisip ko talaga how to make this one different. Unang-una, sa kanila, walang nangyari dun sa masahista. Natapos ang movie, ganun pa rin ang buhay niya. And the great part of the film, set lang dun sa session niya sa loob ng massage parlor. Dito sa ‘Heavenly Touch,’ I made sure na after this, dapat, tigilan na ang ang mga pelikula tungkol sa masseurs. So sa endingnito, nagrebelde ang mga masahista at pinatay ‘yung cruel owner ng parlor who exploits them so much, si Jeffrey Santos. Tapos, ‘yung manager ng parlor na lover ni Jeffrey, pinakitang pinapatay na ang lahat ng ilaw sa loob nila to show na ending na ‘yun ng massage parlor nila. The masseurs naman, Paolo Serrano and Joash Balejado, they get the chance to live a new life in the province. O malayong-malayo yan dun sa una, ha."
