A SECOND accolade came recently to singing champion-turned-top recording star Rachelle Ann Go in the international scene.

The Viva Records artist won second prize in the Best Own Country Song category at the recent Astana Song Festival in Kazakhstan.

The two-day songfest was held in the Great Wall of Astana, Kazakhstan last September 24 and 25.

Rachelle Ann performed Isang Lahi a composition by Vehnee Saturno which also won for Best Arrangement over entries from 11 countries.

Earlier this year, Rachelle Ann was the silver medal winner at the Shanghai Music Festival in China, singing a Vehnee Saturno composition too.

Incidentally, the 19-year-old Search for a Star 2004 winner won for best MTV singer (female) over Kyla and Nina. An ASAP regular at ABS, she also co-host the ABS-CBNs Search for A Star In a Million with Mark Bautista, now in its final stage.

Speaking of surprise winners in unexpected sport events: Yayo Aguila and William Martinez won in the male and female divisions in the recent Celebrity 9-Ball Challenge sponsored by Pump at the Elbow Room in Metrowalk, Pasig City.

This is just the start of a series of billiard competitions Elbow Room, a recreation/sports center will stage. Its additional attraction is fine dining done by its chefs and drinks from its wine cellar.

The winners Yayo and William got trophies plus P10,000 cash prize each. Some celebrities who competed were Joey Marquez, Albert Martinez, Robby Tarroza, Lance Raymundo, Rachel Lobangco, Ella V, Angelu de Leon, Maricar dela Fuente and some showbiz and sports personalities who left the place before we came.

Incidentally, Ernice Pecho informs us that auditions are being done nightly starting at 7 p.m. for solo performers and bands. Just look for Myles Cruz.

Elbow Room being a one-stop resto-bar-billiard center is in need of acoustics, rock, R&B and pop performers and bands.

A quiet love life because perhaps of its absence makes for a quiet flow of events, temporarily undisturbed by rumors and rumormongers of Sunshine Dizon.

Even Mommy Dorothy Laforteza admits that her beloved daughter needs enough rest just as she needs food. But then Sunshine daw would tell her now: "Mommy kung noon ay hindi tayo makatulog dahil sa kaiisip kung may darating na trabaho, ngayon naman hindi tayo makatulog dahil sa trabaho. Ano ba ang gusto natin?"

You see, last Wednesday noon, Sunshine came all the way from early morning shooting at Calinawan cave in Tanay, Rizal. She was filming three Mulawin The Movie.

Wednesday lunch time was for the presscon at Oasis (169 Aurora Boulevard) for the Season 3 of GMAs "dramarama sa hapon," from Monday to Friday Now and Forevers Agos.

She plays the role of Erika here the elder daughter of Armando (Christopher de Leon) and Olivia (Lani Mercado).

Indeed, Sunshine had a busy Wednesday since after the presscon which wound up at mid-afternoon, she hurried off to the enchanted kingdom set of Encantadia in Pasig. She felt that time that work would wind up at early morning of Thursday.

Since she has three days of taping for Encantadia and taping days for Bahay Mo Ba To, her schedules will have to squeeze in three days too of Agos.

She and her mom Dorothy will find a way to fit them all in a busy week.
