Life is sweet for Sam Oh

She’s appealing, vivacious, outgoing, and she always has that infectious laughter and that twinkle in her eyes. Indeed, Sam Oh, host and resident sweet tooth of Q Channel 11’s "True Confections," is just as sweet and captivating as the desserts that regularly pop in her head and those that they feature in "True Confections."

The sweet tooth title in "True Confections" fits Sam to a T. Asked to name the top three great memories she associates with sweets, she exclaims, "Gosh, how could you name just three? Every celebration seems to call for sweets, be it cake, ice cream, whatever! Dessert has been the highlight of so many birthdays, family gatherings, anniversaries and parties."

Sam is a South Korean-born charmer who has been living in the Philippines for about 20 years now. This TV’s "It Girl" has hosted several shows and is currently one of the fab four main hosts, along with Raymond Gutierrez, Tim Yap, and Issa Litton, of Q Channel 11’s lifestyle show "Living It Up!"

Now, she gamely lends her hosting skills and her love of sweets to "True Confections," a thirty minute weekend show that’s all about those delicious, irresistible sweets. Joining Sam as co-hosts are top pastry chefs and entrepreneurs Jackie Ang-Po of Fleur de Lys Patisserie and Aileen Anastacio of C’est Si Bon Corp. Together, they will share all the delicious secrets to the making of everyone’s favorite desserts – from classic to modern, from simple/no-bake to fancy.

"I love chefs Jackie and Aileen, they’re really sweet and funny," Sam says. "Everyone behind the scenes works so hard, it’s very humbling.

"One of the best things about working on TC – I get to eat dessert!"

And what heavenly desserts they are – the pilot episode featured classic cakes like the Strawberry Shortcake and the classic chocolate cake. The second episode had chocolate cookies and brownies, reinvented. Party pastries like the carrot cupcake and butter pound cake were the main attractions in the next episode. For Episode 4, viewers were treated to Halloween-loot-bag-ready sweets like cut out sugar cookies and ginger spice cakes.

With all these tempting sweets around her, how in the world does Sam keep herself fit? "I try to go to bikram yoga class as often as I can. And shop. Hey that burns a lot of calories!" she laughs.

"True Confections" airs every Saturday night, 6:30, only on Q Channel 11.
