Column: Manila, Entertainment GRAND Slam actress Lorna Tolentino returns to television as she takes part in one of ABS-CBN's biggest TV projects this year -- "Dahil May Isang Ikaw." MANILA. In a pocket press conference organized for the award-winning actress Wednesday, Lorna revealed how excited she is to be back in ABS-CBN once again.
She said the very main reason why she transferred is because of the "enticing" offer of ABS-CBN starting off with her newest TV series.
"The exciting part is, people could get to see another good TV series again from ABS-CBN. I believe that this will be another remarkable series that ABS-CBN would offer the public," she said.
"I am happy working with them because they are giving me importance and they are taking good care of me. It's really nice working again with ABS-CBN when I know that they will love me and take care of me," she added.
It has been almost seven years since she last appeared in a TV series in ABS-CBN. The last project she did as Kapamilya was "Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay" in 2002.
Lorna admitted that she has made some adjustments upon getting back into showbiz after a long hiatus. "I had slight adjustments during the pilot episode because I need to stay late for the taping. But now they have given me cut-off time which is really a big help for me so I could spend my time with my two boys (Raphael and Renz)," she related.
As for her comeback series, Lorna will be paired with another returning veteran actor Gabby Concepcion. This is the first time Lorna will be working with Gabby on TV but they have worked together on movies before.
Asked how it was working with Gabby again, she said: "We have both experienced and hurled problems in our lives. And I feel that those experiences have shaped us and strengthened us into what we are now. I feel that experience is the best teacher. And as you can in the trailer, the maturity in us was there."
Aside from Gabby and Lorna, "Dahil May Isang Ikaw" will also be the comeback of the well-loved tandem of Kristine Hermosa and Jericho Rosales. Lorna has nothing but good comments for the two Kapamilya artists.
"With Jericho, it is easy for me to feel his role. He gives his best in his every scene. I feel him as an actor even during the rehearsal you could feel him right then and there. For Kristine, I haven't encountered any problems with her. She is very professional. She comes at the set on time. And her acting has depth so far I could feel her acting," she said.
Lorna disclosed that the death of her husband Rudy Fernandez has been a great help in dealing with the challenges of her role. "If I am having a hard time with scenes, I prayed to Rudy right away...and if I need to motivate myself I think of the sad days in my life so it also helps."
Lorna will give life to the character of Tessa a strong-willed lawyer in "Dahil May Isang Ikaw." This series is just one of the projects she will be doing for ABS-CBN in two years. Also included in her contract are another TV series for next year and a movie.
