| "Maligno" strikes ABS-CBN's Primetime BidaColumn: Entertainment ABS-CBN is set to launch "Maligno," the second installment of "Sineserye Presents: The Susan Roces Cinema Collection". "Maligno" is the television adaptation of a classic film starring veteran actress Susan Roces. "Isang karangalan para sa akin na muling magkaroon ng sineserye ang isa sa pelikulang ginawa ko maraming taon na ang nakakalipas," said Roces during the press preview of the miniseries. "Sa nakita ko kanina... tila katulad ng "Patayin Sa Sindak si Barbara" ay lalo pa nilang napaganda ang "Maligno." Labis akong natutuwa sa respeto at paggalang hindi lang para sa akin kung hindi para sa pelikulang sinasalin nila bilang sineserye," Roces added. The Queen of Philippine Movies said that "Maligno" is a big thing for her since she produced the film version, and from this film she earned her first Best Actress trophy in 1977. "On the other hand hindi pwedeng gawing eksakto kasi bilang sineserye kailangang napapanahon din at naayon din sa panlasa at edad ng mga participants at televiewers. So ang main concern kapag gumagawa ng mini-series ay ma-satisfy ang televiewers," Roces said. After the successful series "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara," one of the country's prime actresses Claudine Barretto is back to give primetime viewers a scare. "Maraming nakakatakot na eksena na makikita niyo dito, wala akong masasabing iisa lang... sana po magustuhan niyo lahat," Barretto said. Barretto will reprise the role of Roces as Angela, the predestined mother of a demon child. The story Maligno is a story that revolves around the life of an ambitious woman who was fated to give birth to a demon child. Despite her skepticism, destiny catches up with her as several revelations unfold and she realizes that her beloved son is doomed to become a satanic cult's messiah. Joining Barretto in the project is a powerhouse cast led by Ms. Susan Roces, who will play a very special role, Diether Ocampo, Rafael Rosell, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, DJ Durano, Arlene Tolibas, Empoy, Carlo Lacana, with the special participation of Rio Locsin and Susan Africa. Watch "Maligno" this month of April, only on ABS-CBN. Source: ABS-CBN News |
