Marco admits having constant communication with Lara

KAPUSO male star Marco Alcaraz is very thankful that he has never been unoccupied since he started working in GMA Network.

From remarkable acting in some afternoon shows, Marco eventually penetrated primetime local series starting from "Dyesebel" to "Lalola," recently in "Zorro" and now in the GMA-7's newest adaptation "Rosalinda." "It's flattering that I have given the opportunity to do shows one after the other. Immediately after 'Dyesebel' I was given a guesting role in 'Lalola' and then in 'Zorro' which actually almost overlaps with 'Rosalinda'," he said.

He will be playing the role of Anibal Pacheco in Rosalinda topbilled by newcomer Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann.

"Anibal is a die-hard suitor of Fedra played by Katrina Halili," Marco shared. As a co-star, Marco said he made it easier and comfortable for Katrina to work at the set considering the controversy she is still facing.

"We avoid talking about it. We lighten the atmosphere to make it easier for her. On the set, there were times when she was just quiet while sometimes she's happy and mingles with us," the actor revealed believing that Katrina is still the best actress opposite to Carla.

Asked what he could say on Carla's first acting title role, he said: "She is willing to learn, that's what good about her. She is so willing to learn and be honed to be a good actress."

Marco said he does not have a hard time adjusting to his role as Anibal because he is really a lover boy. He is a type of guy who persistently pursues a person he loves.

"Even if you pushed me away I will still make a way to get close to you," he said.

Probed if that is how Precious Lara Quigaman is doing to him right now, he said: "As of now, honestly, as we all know that she just came from a break-up with her non-showbiz boyfriend. I'm only here to make her happy and to be a shoulder to cry on for the meantime."

He admitted that he hangs out with Lara a couple of times, but with friends. He also communicates with the actress-TV-host every now and then.

"We talk. We communicate. We are friends," he said.

Marco shared that he first met Lara when the former beauty queen hosted Bb. Pilipinas 2008, where Marco was invited as a performer. He was then formally introduced by Valerie Concepcion to Lara when she was still hosting "Wowowee."

Since then, they frequently bumped into events and eventually went out with friends, specifically when the time Lara and her boyfriend broke up.

Sun.Star also asked Marco if he is not bothered by the news that "Wowowee" host Willie Revillame is now courting Lara. Reports are pointing to Lara as the reason Willie and his non-showbiz girlfriend split up, which the beauty queen vehemently denied.

"She has not told me anything about him (Willie). (We are) more on talking about problems and we have constant communication," he said.

Marco said the only thing he heard about Lara and Willie was that Willie gave Lara a watch.

If ever something special will develop between him and Lara, Marco said he is willing to share it to the public. But as of now, he is still enjoying their "getting to know" stage.

"If we don't have work as much as possible we meet and go out with friends. I have work M-W-F and her work is Tuesday, Thursday and sometimes Sunday so our schedule matches," he said.
