Marian: D for Dingdong, not Darna?

WHAT will life be for Marian Rivera without Dingdong Dantes?

Starting tomorrow, the actress will fly with her new TV series, "Darna" which replaces "Zorro" on its timeslot in GMA 7. She will be the predecessor of Angel Locsin who last donned the famous local super heroine costume.

Marian would probably be considered as the most beautiful actress who portrayed "Darna"; even veteran actress Celia Rodriguez could attest to this as she was part of the three prequels before this particular one with Marian. Of the "Darna" episodes which she was part of were "Lipad, Darna, Lipad" in 1973, "Darna Kuno?" in 1979, and with Angel Locsin's 2005 series. We remember her always as Darna's main villainess, "Valentina" but now she will be playing the role of Perfecta. The chosen "Valentina" now is Iwa Moto. Mark Anthony Fernandez plays Darna's love interest here.

Aside from Celia, Mark and Iwa with Marian is an all star cast which include Eddie Garcia, Caridad Sanchez, Jestoni Alarcon, Janice de Belen, Raymart Santiago, Rita Avila, among many others.

This will be a new project for her without Dingdong Dantes.

It's pretty obvious that their relationship has blossomed into something even more special than friends as it was remembered that Marian was suspected of having been the cause of the Dingdong -- Karylle breakup.

Now with her new series without Dingdong, wouldn't she slip into shouting Dingdong instead of Darna whenever she swallows the enchanted stone? Just asking...

IWA, MARRIED?
Iwa Moto, one of the promising actresses of GMA 7 will play the villainess Valentina who will be the main foe of Darna. This should be considered as Iwa's biggest break.

But how true that the actress has already tied the knot with her non-showbiz boyfriend? It spread because in her Facebook account, she changed her present status to married.

The actress denied this and said that in having a boyfriend, she considers it already a commitment so she considers herself "married. "

But isn't she secretly married really? Just asking...

MATCHED OR NOT?
IS GMA7 lacking in marketable leading men on its stable of artists?

In Darna, Marian Rivera is paired with Mark Anthony Fernandez. After pairing with Heart Evangelista in "Luna Mystika", seems like GMA7 has put another challenging task on Mark Anthony.

He will play Efren, the love interest of Darna. But do they match? This isn't the first time that GMA 7 has come up with a not perfectly matched pairing but in the end, viewers are "forced" to like them.

Well, if it turns out well and Marian with Mark Anthony are able to do a good job with their new roles, this means GMA7 really wields magic to their stars.

Isn't it just a matter of mind persuasion? Just asking...
