Marian under fire

THERE seems to be a demolition effort against Marian Rivera these days.

Coming from the break-up issue, she is now rumored to be pregnant. And that's what made her cry during the press conference for the movie Desperadas 2. According to her, she finds Karylle's silence on the issue quite hurting.

"Kung hindi totoo na buntis siya. .. bakit siya nagpapa-apekto?!," asks one writer. "Eh, 'di deadmahin na lang niya, di ba?!"

Some say that her "crying scene" was just part of her gimmick. But there are nasty talks confirming that she is indeed pregnant. As what has been circulating in the local showbiz, Karylle broke up with Dingdong Dantes after she found out that he allegedly impregnated Marian. Some issues against Marian are even nastier than this - and unprintable, at that.

Whatever Marian is facing now, she still remains busy as projects keep pouring on her way. Undoubtedly, her last movie with Dingdong "One True Love" was not a big hit as expected. And it has been predicted that this would be the start of her downfall. Of course, her detractors wait for that to happen. But Marian definitely won't make them happy.

However, it is clear that she seems to be on the "negative" side as far as the Dingdong-Karylle relationship is concerned. In fact, she is being tagged as "mang-aagaw" which she objected violently.

"Basta sa pananaw ng publiko, siya ang dahilan ng paghihiwalay nina Dingdong at Karylle. Kaya wala sa kanya ang simpatiya ng publiko. At obvious na 'tuluyan nang nanlamig ang Marian fever, " comments my friend, Bong Caramanza.

Marian seems to end the year 2008 with a heavy heart. But knowing how feisty she is, will she heat up the Marian fever anew this coming new year? Just asking. ..

GOOD SONGS FROM OGIE

ANOTHER exceptional night was experienced when we got the chance to watch Ogie Alcasid's concert last Sunday. Thanks to my friend Oliver Oliveros for giving me the chance to view personally the event entitled "Ogie Sings With the Idols. " at the Aliw Theater.

He was joined by Ramielle Malubay, another Pinay, who was part in the recent American Idol Top 10 in the U. S. and Gretchen Espina, the current Pinoy Idol winner.

Through the years, Ogie has always been there giving us good songs that indeed melt our hearts. From his renditions of songs like his old but still relatively famous hit "Nandito Ako" to his new additions like "Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang," "Kung Mawawala Ka," among others, he never stops inspiring Filipino audiences by making songs that touch our hearts.

Adding this up with his comic antics on stage, truly Ogie is blessed with sheer talent not only in writing songs and singing, but also with his exceptional sense of humor.

People will never get bored when they watch him perform live on stage. With his personification of entertaining people, Ogie certainly is a class act and will be remembered as "Ogie the Pogi" inside the meanings of his songs and his performances outside with his audiences. With his achievements, is he already satisfied? Just asking...
