Author: Chan Chan Torres Agad naming pinuntahan si Mariel Rodriguez na fresh from Wowowee tours in Houston and San Diego sa unang live show variety show sa Studio 3 sa ABS-CBN para kumustahin ang naging pagtanggap ng ating mga kababayang pinoy sa kanila roon. "Oh, they were really fabulous! The shows were great!" bungad pa ni Mariel, while she was having a quick lunch with Pokwang inside their dressing room.
Agad naming tinanong si Mariel kung bakit may naglalabasang intriga na hindi raw masyadong sinuportahan ng mga tao ang shows nila roon at hindi raw ito napuno gaya ng usual. "Oh, it's not true.Kung paano nila (TFC subscribers) kami sinusuporatahan sa ibang lugar, ganoon din ang nangyari sa Houston at San Diego," paglilinaw pa ni Mariel. Naikuwento rin ni Mariel ang naging experience niya nu'ng nasa Amerika sila. While she makes it a point to spend time with her co-hosts Pokwang, Valerie Concepcion and RR Enriquez but then, 'pag may oras pa sila, agad naman siyang nagpapa-alam kay Willie Revillame to visit her Dad who resides in New Jersey. "You know, when we have time off (abroad), that's the time I get to visit my dad. That's the consolation I get every time Wowowee goes out of the country kasi hindi naman tayo pwedeng basta-basta na lang kumuha ng bakasyon because of work, 'di ba? So, rarely ko talaga siyang nakikita, the last time I saw him was noong nag-New Jersey ang Wowowee, kasi he lives in New Jersey." Tuluy-tuloy pang sabi ni Mariel. Mariel again said she is just so thankful to Willie that he understandsand he allows him to visit her dad each time theygo abroad.Limang araw nakapiling ni Mariel ang ama sa Amerika. Ngayong back to work na muli si Mariel dito sa 'Pinas,abala rin daw ang TV host sa paghahanda sa Kapaskuhan.Bagama't wala pa siyang definite plans sa kung ano ang kanyang mgiging activities sa darating na mga araw, sinabi ni Mariel na she's only sure of the fact that it will be spent with her family. "My Lolo and Lola are here, and some of our relatives are coming also from the States kaya most likely, it's gonna be a perfect time for us to be together.I will spend my Christmas with them sa house ng sister ko." Since Christmas is meant to be celebrated with our loved ones, tinanong namin si Mariel kung paano niya isi-celebrate ang pasko with Zanjoe Marudo, ang taong nagbibigay ng kulay sa buhay ng dalaga. " Naku, wala pa talaga kaming plans. But since I'm going to spend it with my family, he's invited," magiliw na sabi pa ni Mariel, at talagang part na si Zanjoe ng kanilang pamilya. Mariel said she getting herself ready for 2009, and is looking forward to bigger opportunities.
