| Marky Cielo diesAuthor: Sun.Star EARLY morning last Sunday, a sad report had reached GMA-7 Network confirming that one of their talents, Marky Cielo, died. Marky, 20, was found unconscious inside his room at his house in Antipolo City, Rizal at 6 a.m. Sunday. He was rushed by his mother to a nearby hospital but was unfortunately proclaimed dead. Discuss views with other readers At 4 p.m. same day, GMA Network issued an official statement regarding the untimely death of Marky: "Bandang alas-10 kaninang umaga (Linggo) sa Antipolo Doctors Hospital ay idineklarang dead on arrival ang young actor at Starstruck Nationwide Invasion Sole Survivor na si Marky Cielo. "Ayon sa paunang salaysay ng kanyang ina na si Mildred, natagpuan niyang nakahandusay ang kanyang anak sa kanilang tahanan sa Antipolo, Rizal, at agad niya itong isinugod sa ospital. Sa ngayon ay hinintay pa nila ang resulta ng imbestigasyon sa sanhi ng pagpanaw ni Marky Cielo bago magbigay ng opisyal na pahayag ang kanyang pamilya. Marky gained popularity when he won as "Ultimate Sole Survivor" in GMA-7's reality show StarStruck Season 3. He was the first hailer from Mountain Province to be known in the mainstream media industry. Marky appeared in several GMA-7 shows such as "Encantadia," "Fantastikids," "Bakekang," "Asian Treasures," "Boys Next Door," "Kaputol ng Isang Awit," "Codename: Asero," and "LaLola." He was best known as Zaido Green in "Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan." He was also a mainstay of the musical-variety show SOP. He appeared in the movie of Regine Velasquez and Robin Padilla titled "Till I Met You," opposite another StarStruck winner Jackie Rice. In his short year in showbiz, Marky received several accolades including Most Promising Male Artist award given by Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. He was also included in Yes! Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful and Candy Mag's 100 Candy Cuties. Aside from acting, Marky was also known for his dancing prowess. Marky's remains lies at St. Peter's Chapel in Quezon City.
