EGOS will not clash at the much-anticipated concert of Martin Nievera and Gary Valenciano on Sept. 19, 8 p.m., at the MOA Concert Grounds, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. As the title of the concert suggests, "As 1," they will both do everything to make their first team-up in a concert their best performance of a lifetime.

"Martin and Gary both agree to have their public witness history," said Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, Gary's better half and the brains behind Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management, Inc. "Yes, with this concert. The two are considered icons in the music industry kaya expect a concert of epic proportions to happen."

Martin's gift of gab and comedic flair will be a good match to Gary's terpsichorean skills and inimitable manner of entertaining.

"They are really a dream team," stated Angeli further. "And this concert will reveal a plethora of similarities and contrasts. Of parallelism and parabolic highs and lows."

Although Martin entered the music industry earlier than Gary, they both had their start in the same recording company, Vicor. Their records similarly sold like hotcakes and they received recognitions and accolades from several award-giving bodies in the field of music and entertainment in the beginning of their careers.

Both get to perform as guest artist in the other's concert.

"Kaya iba ito," says a fan of both. "This is a showdown of two showbiz titans kaya, it's a must to watch this concert."

Anne Curtis fears that if proper medical attention is not given immediately, Sam Milby might lose his hearing in one of his ears totally.

She recalled that Sam called her up one day and told her that something was wrong with one of his ears.

When she asked him what it was that was bothering him, he could not hear her and replied with a "What?"

"So, I told him," Anne related. "Hindi mo ako marinig. Bingi ka, ano?"

What Anne didn't know was that Sam already sensed that something was wrong with one of his ears, a few days after he shot a scene with Bea Alonzo for "And I Loved You So." This was the scene where Bea slaps him hard.

"Malakas daw yata masyado ang ginawang pagsampal sa kanya ni Bea, talagang nayanig daw siya," said Anne. "But still, he is not blaming Bea. Kasi, one hazard na puwedeng mangyari sa siyuting ang nangyari.

"He hopes nga, Bea will not feel guilty."

Although they have called it quits as sweethearts for almost a year now, she and Sam have remained friends and, well, confidantes.

Does she think a reconciliation is still possible?

"Well, what will be, will be," she answered.

Anne denied the report that hers were the shoulders Luis sought to cry on after his much-publicized break-up with Angel Locsin.

"In fairness to Luis, wala siyang sinasabi sa akin tungkol kay Angel. Lalo na tungkol sa paghihiwalay nila.

"Ako naman, I think it's not my business to probe about their break-up. It's too much of a private matter. Although, siguro, being his soulmate, if Luis tells me about it, I will listen.

"I've been through it myself. At masakit," Anne declared.

Right now, Anne is focused on the last two weeks of her teleserye, "The Wedding," on ABS-CBN. At this point in time, viewers are eager to know who Anne, as Candice, will finally choose for her groom: Marlon (Zanjoe Marudo) or Warren (Derek Ramsey).

"Sa totoo lang," she said, "kahit siguro sa tunay na buhay, I will probably have a hard time choosing between them. Pareho kasi silang good husband material."

But does she have an inkling who her character will end up with?

"Wala rin," she replied. "It's all up to the scriptwriter. E, di pa namin nakukunan ang eksena.

"But I suggest that all those have followed the series from day one continue to watch 'The Wedding' kasi, the wedding of Candice could be the wedding every young girl like me dreams of."

Directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mae Cruz, "The Wedding" also stars Eula Valdez, Michael de Mesa, Alwyn Uytingco, Mich Dulce, Irma Adlawan and William Martinez.
