IT'S just fair, Ian F. , that we give credit where credit is due. But we want it known that we are not exactly a fan of former President Erap Estrada although we know the guy since, wika nga, way back.

We cannot help but admire his kindness because of what he did for fellow movie writer and friend, Ricky Lo.

Nakulong ang pamangkin ni Ricky with her wala pang isang taon na baby sa bahay nila, located in one of the flood-prone areas in San Juan.

She sounded helpless when she called up Ricky and told him about her baby's predicament. She was asking for help.

Kaso, nagkataong helpless din si Ricky at that time. Stranded siya somewhere sa baha.

Ito nga ang dahilan why on that particular day, hindi siya napanood sa Startalk.

That's when the idea of calling up President Erap to seek his help came to Ricky.

President Erap asked for the location and name of Ricky's niece. A few hours later, Ricky called up San Juan Mayor JV (Ejercito), President Erap's son.

Hindi pa man daw niya nababanggit ang dahilan ng pagtawag niya rito, Mayor JV already blurted out na nire-rescue na ang pamangkin niya via a speedboat.

No wonder Ricky was profused with admiration at pasasalamat kina President Erap at Mayor JV.

Only a few days back, somebody from the U. S. sent Ricky an e-mail narrating her unbelievable and unforgettable experience with President Erap.

Mayor pa lamang daw ito noon ng San Juan at newly married naman siya. She and her husband then lived sa isang flood-prone area sa San Juan.

One time raw, dahil umuulan, maaga silang natulog na mag-asawa. Dahil daw siguro masarap ang tulog nila, hindi nila namalayang umulan nang umulan at lumakas nang lumakas ang patak nito.

Nagulat daw sila nang makarinig ng sunud-sunod na katok sa pintuan nu'ng maghahating-gabi na.

When they opened the door, nagulat daw sila nang bumulaga sa harapan nila si Erap, advising them to quickly evacuate bago pa lumala ang baha.

Until now, fresh na fresh pa raw sa memory ng e-mail sender ang pangyayaring iyon.

Senior actress Luz Valdez recalls din what a friend told her about President Erap.

Dahil nasa showbiz din ang nabanggit na kaibigan ni Luz, naging close rin ito sa dating pangulo.

Nang malaman daw ni President Erap that Luz's friend was living with her family in a depressed area in San Juan, tinulungan niya ang mag-anak na makalipat sa isang more decent place.

Now, Luz's friend is doing well in her career. Nakalipat na rin sila sa higit na mas magandang lugar.

Former President Erap is a new grandpa courtesy of daughter- in-law Rowena (nee Ocampo), wife of youngest son Jude.

Following the tradition sa Ejercito family na letter "J" ang umpisa ng pangalan, Jude and Weng (palayaw ni Rowena) named their son, Justin Jude.

The couple were married nearly two years ago.

Is Willie Revillame courting her? We asked Lorna Tolentino when we bumped into her sa recent birthday ni Senator Bong Revilla sa White Space, Makati.

LT was then with good friend Isabel Rivas.

"Sinabi niyang (Willie) hindi raw niya ako nililigawan, 'di ba?" sagot ni LT, "kaya, that's that. "

Ikinatawa ito ni Isabel, who was raring na mabisita ang kanyang farm sa Iba, Zambales.

"Inspired lang 'yan," biro ni Isabel.

For her part, LT asked: "Feeling n'yo, I need it na?"

Natural, ang sagot namin ay "hindi. "
