Mother Lily 'snubs' preem of own movie

MOTHER Lily Monteverde leaves for South Africa anytime this week. So she won't be able to attend the premiere night of her new movie, "Nandito Ako. .. Nagmamahal sa Yo. " "It has long been scheduled," she says about her trip. "We (her family included) are also going to Europe. "

But she's confident that even without her presence, her new movie which launches the loveteam of Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal, will be a big hit. She has gambled on a lot of stars under her Regal Entertainment, and most of them are big names in local cinema now.

"They are a big hit on TV," says Mother Lily of Aljur and Kris, " and I know they're going to be a big hit in the movies, too. "

Even daughter Roselle Monteverde-Teo, with whom Mother Lily had entrusted Regal into, has so much confidence in the new love team. "You know, my daughter's mind is so progressive," says Mother Lily. Their romantic scenes replete with a lot of embracing and kissing are rumored to have spilled off even when they're not in character. THE ACTRESS VIEWERS LOVE TO HATE
VIEWERS will again hate Jean Garcia because of her role in "Stairway To Heaven. " In the new GMA7 series, she plays a scheming, ambitious and greedy woman who wants her daughter, played by Glaiza de Castro, to do whatever it takes to live the affluent life.

During the press launch, Jean looked quite the opposite of what she plays. Her smiles captivate everyone, and her press-friendly ways make her always a winner. She still looks gorgeous and we can't help but notice her high-heeled shoes similar to what Sandra Bullock wore in Miss Congeniality.

"Expensive 'yan, ha," we told her, but she simply smiled. In the series, she gets to wear expensive clothes and shoes which really become her. And those are one of the things that viewers will look forward to in Stairway to Heaven which topbills Dingdong Dantes, Rhian Ramos and TJ Trinidad.

JUDY ANN, ALFRED GIVE AWAY EXPENSIVE BELONGINGS
