Mysterious Marian changes Dingdong’s life

Beginning today, Carlo J. Caparas’ "Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang" will showcase the much-awaited return of the phenomenal loveteam of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera on GMA. They play the lead characters Homer and Proserfina.

The series tells how fate leads these two in spite of their differences: Homer’s a nerdy businessman who lives a boring life, while Proserfina’s a streetsmart woman with a shady past.

Proserfina’s presence changes the young businessman’s dull existence. Just when Home decides to share his life with her, the mysterious woman suddenly disappears from his life.

Joining the country’s hottest loveteam are Angelu de Leon as Helene, Homer’s ambitious girlfriend; Paolo Contis as Rado, a ruthless man in love with Proserfina; Carmi Martin as Hera, Homer’s domineering mother; Eugene Domingo as Madel, Homer’s maid; Francine Prieto as Sheila, Rado’s girlfriend; and Sherilyn Reyes as Aunt Galatea, Homer’s loving aunt.

Completing the cast are Lovi Poe as Athena, Aristotle’s love interest; Mart Escudero as Ulysses, Proserfina’s brother; Jackie Rice as Sandra, Homer’s outcast sister, Prince Stefan as Aristotle; Homer’s younger brother; Alyssa Alano as Citas, the new maid in Homer’s house; Carlene Aguilar as Clarisse, Helene’s bestfriend, and Boom Labrusca as Greg, Helen’s other boyfriend.

Originally created for comics in 1974 by the 2008 Sagisag Balagtas awardee and comics genius Carlo J. Caparas, "Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang" was later adapted as a movie in 1981 starring Eddie Rodriguez and Vivian Velez.

The newest primetime series for 2009 is under the help of Joyce Bernal, the lady director behind the successful GMA Telebabad shows "Marimar" and "Dyesebel," which also had Dingdong and Marian in the leads.
