ANOTHER blockbuster film gets the de luxe treatment on television this July, as ABS-CBN welcomes the 1988 cinematic classic, Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos as the fourth installment to the Primetime Bida program, Sineserye Presents. This television adaptation features a premiere actress of her generation, Roxanne Guinoo, along with her current flame Jake Cuenca, and former reel and real-life partner, Joross Gamboa.

Based on the original novel Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos by Ruben Marcelino, the movie of the same title revolves around the sufferings of a young woman destined to live a prosperous life, but on the night of her birth, was switched to live a life of poverty. Growing up, she struggles to gain her parents’ love with her hard work, while the child who took her rightful place and got the well-off life she deserves grew up to be a spoiled, irresponsible man who is secretly harboring secret feelings for her. This critically acclaimed film by Lino Brocka stars dramatic actress Lorna Tolentino, with Ricky Davao and Gary Valenciano.

Roxanne Guinoo has come a long way from her Star Circle Quest days. One of the most promising actresses of her generation, she graduated from her teeny bopper roles and even took the next level by showing some flesh and posing for the cover of a popular men’s magazine. Recently, she joined a prestigious line of sexy and beautiful women by being the latest White Castle Lady. After her long time relationship with former beau and love team Joross Gamboa fizzled out, many thought that love will take a back seat for this season’s It Girl, but not long enough, she was seen hanging out with hunk-actor and rumored boyfriend Jake Cuenca.

Being in one set with a former and a current flame must have been a challenge for the three, as Roxanne, Jake and Joross topbills this latest Sineserye Presents.

Roxanne will revive Lorna Tolentino’s role as the pitiful Gilian, while Jake will play the spoiled and mischievous Andrew. Joross completes the love triangle as Mark, Andrew’s best friend who also has admiration for the heroine.

Sineserye’s remake of the film will follow the plot of the movie, but will add more twists and conflicts to the story. Directed by Jerry Sineneng and Rechie del Carmen, the TV version of Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos will star veteran actors like Ronnie Lazaro, Matt Ranillo, Bing Pimentel, and promising young stars Denise Laurel, Nash Aguas, Jessy Mendiola, Mara Lopez and Martin del Rosario. Also, respected actresses Dina Bonnevie and Rosanna Roces come together for the first time in this dramatic mini-series.
