| No other Tita CoryAuthor: Joey Aquino WHO would have imagined that the lone person who'd bring us to freedom from the Marcos regime was a plain housewife? Here's JC Aquino, my son from the Ateneo High School sharing his insights about former President Cory Aquino. Early morning of August 1, 2009, 3:18 a. m. at the Makati Medical Center, our former President Maria Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino died due to cardiopulmonary arrest after complications of colon cancer. She, the mother to celebrity Kris Aquino and Senator Noynoy Aquino, has left behind a legacy as an icon for democracy, a people power figure to every Filipino and a religious Christ-centered person. After watching her latest interview with Jessica Soho, I can see a simple but influential personality, a loving mother to us. She had remained humble and faithful despite the presence of temptation during her times in power. Because we live just a few blocks from her home in Times Street, I have heard a lot of stories about her from my dad. I myself have seen her a few times in person. I appreciate what she had sacrificed and done for the country. She will be remembered by all Filipinos and people worldwide. You may rest in peace now Tita Cory, thank you for everything. From a boy who didn't even had the chance to encounter the first People Power, such an honor to be writing about a courageous woman who fought with a rosary and prayers. Like what you did for all of us, our love and prayers will always be with you. Can there be another Tita Cory? Just asking... WHY NOT A STATE FUNERAL FOR A FORMER PRESIDENT? Questions have been raised on why former President Cory wasn't given a state funeral being a former leader of the land. She is also considered a of democracy for our beloved country. But in a recent interview with Sen. Noynoy Aquino, a state funeral is not needed anymore. The humbleness of Tita Cory and her family is written all over this decision. With the passing of the symbol of peace in our country, may all our differences be set aside and let our faith play a role to unite us. But with our attitude towards politics, can this happen in our lifetime? Just asking... "M" INSPIRES DINGDONG IN an interview on the TV show, Mel and Joey, Dingdong Dantes says his inspirations include his family and "M". He was promoting his album, The Dingdong Dantes Experience, a collection of MTVs and his favorite dance music. In would be noticed that in his MTVs in the album, he was surrounded by beautiful women. When asked if M felt jealous, he said they were just part of the album, but the one who's really a part of his life is M. Everybody believes M is Marian Rivera. When will they publicly admit that they are on? Just asking... For comments and suggestions please text 09179256177 or email us at justasking_ ja@yahoo. com. .. Source: People's Journal |
