OPM's brightest come together

Rico J. Puno, Nonoy Zuniga and Rey Valera. Claire de la Fuente, Eva Eugenio and Joey Albert. These six music artists responsible for many hit songs in the 70s and 80s eras, will be performing together for the first time in a very special concert at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30.

Titled "Legends of OPM," the show will be the crowning glory of what has been hailed as a great year of live performances in the local music scene. Rico, Nonoy and Rey, plus Claire, Eva and Joey are all stalwarts of Filipino music and have a long string of enduring hit songs among them that should provide excellent entertainment for music loving Pinoys.

Rico made hits out of "Kapalaran," "Damdamin," "Ang Taoy Marupok," "Lupa," "May Bukas Pa," "Macho Guwapito," "Magkasuyo Buong Gabi." Nonoy had "Doon Lang," "Kumusta Ka," "Love Without Time," "Init sa Magdamag," "Ako ay Ikaw Rin," "Never Ever Say Goodbye." Valera composed and popularized "Maging Sino Ka Man," "Pangako Sa yo," "Walang Kapalit," "Naaalala Ka," "Ako si Superman," "Kung Kailangan Mo Ako."

Claire is best known for "Sayang," "Unang Pag-ibig," "Nakaw Na Pag-ibig" and "Something in Your Eyes." Eva sang "Tukso," "Pag-ibig Na Walang Dangal," "Ano ang Gagawin Kapag Wala Ka Na," "Mahal Mo Ba Sya," "Minamahal Kita Minamahal Ko Sya," "Babae Ako." Joey had "Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin," "Iisa Pa Lamang," "Points of View," "Tell Me," "A Million Miles Away," "Yakapin Mo Ako," "I Remember the Boy."

These hits are but a few of what they will perform in "Legends of OPM," a Viva Concerts and Events production directed by Roxanne Lapuz with Jun Latonio as musical director.
