Ogie Alcasid figured in a freak accident in "SOP" last Sunday when the mike he was holding was kicked by Sex Bomb dancer Danica and then it hit his mouth, damaging some of his teeth and his lips. "Umuwi na lang ako and was no longer able to perform in the show," he says. "Hindi naman ginusto 'yun ng dancer. "

Danica is really thankful that Ogie didn't make a big issue out of it. "Buti't mabait siya't maunawain," she says.

Ogie will be back in "SOP" tomorrow to promote his movie with Michael V, "Yaya and Angelina, The Spoiled Brat Movie. " He says it'll be his last movie where he'd appear wearing women's clothes. "Kasi ikatlong movie ko na ito na I'm in drag after 'Desperadas' and 'Oh My Girl,' kaya kailangang iba naman para hindi magsawa ang viewers. "

His inamorata Regine Velasquez recently announced that she wants to have a Herminio (Ogie's real name) Alcasid, Jr. soon and some folks concluded she must be preggy. "No, she's not," says Ogie. "Kasal muna bago baby. And right now, hindi pa ayos ang annulment ko rito sa Pilipinas, whereas 'yung kay Michelle (Van Eimeren, his first wife) in Sydney, naayos na kaya she can afford to get married again this November. "

Ogie and Regine are also glad that their "Celebrity Duets" maintain high ratings. Last Saturday, it got 19. 2% and it's expected to rate higher tonight with the 9 contenders preparing fabulous numbers to outdo each other.

The judges say that they are all still on equal footing as of now, which means anyone can be eliminated by tonight. Voting officially began last week and you can vote on your fave singer until lunchtime today. Tonight, the lowest pointer among the celebrities will be eliminated from the show. So, find out who among actors Jomari Yllana and Gina Alajar, boxing champ Nonito Donaire, beauty queen Janina San Miguel, beauty maven Mikaela Bilbao, designer Maxie Cinco, king of scents Joel Cruz, model Akihiro Sato, and photographer Niccolo Cosme will be the first to leave "Celebrity Duets" tonight after Pinoy Records on GMA.

RHIAN DENIES AGAIN

Rhian Ramos says she's both happy and nervous as the start date of "Stairway to Heaven" nears. "It's a great show and I'm glad GMA chose me to play the lead role of Jodi. It excites me pero may kabang kasama as I know some quarters say hindi ako bagay na Jodi. At first, it disheartened me, but I later just considered it a challenge para mas pagbutihin ko ang performance ko. At the show's premiere showing advanced episodes sa SM Cinema recently, natuwa naman ako dahil lahat ng feedback is positive.

I really psyche myself up na pagdating ko pa lang sa set tuwing may taping, pini-feel kong ako na si Jodi and Dingdong Dantes is really Cholo. I admit na noong una, naiilang ako kay Dingdong kasi mukha si-yang suplado, but after our workshops, nalaman kong okay pala siya at weird pa nga kung magbiro. I just feel sad na ayaw pa rin ako tigilan ng intriga, like 'yung rumor that I snubbed Marian Rivera daw when I guested in 'Show Me Da Manny. ' It's just not true dahil binati ko silang lahat, lalo na si Marian. Hindi kami nag-dedmahan at all. Nakakahiya nga baka sabihin ginagamit siya sa promo ng 'Stairway to Heaven. ' May nagsasabi ring nagpi-flirt ako kay Dingdong. Why will I do that when I know he's already taken?"

Rhian is super busy these days not only with "Stairway" but with the filmfest entry "Panday" with Sen. Bong Revilla and her endorsements for Soda, Sabella, Hangten and PLDTMyDSL.

MOVIE REVIEW: THE GRUDGE 3
"The Grudge" series is the second horror franchise made by Hollywood after "The Ring," which stopped at "Ring 2. " "The Grudge" now has its third installment which is released here theatrically but straight to DVD in the U. S. The first movie is about a mother and her son who were murdered, along with their cat. They haunt the house where they died and seek revenge on all those who go there. The explanation is that when someone is killed in a powerful rage, it gives birth to a grudge or curse that kills everything in its path.

"Grudge 3" continues where "Grudge 2" ends. If you'd recall, 2 was set in Chicago where a whole family was killed and the only survivor is Jake.

The avenging ghost from "Grudge 1", Kayako, has invaded their family and made her stepmother mad to kill their family. Jake is now in a mental hospital, afraid of Kayako's ghost, under the care of Dr. Sullivan (Shawnee Smith of the "Saw" series) who vows to him: "I promise. I won't ever let anything bad happen to you. " But as soon as she's gone, a pair of ghostly hands grabs Jake and throws him around while a security guard watches on a TV monitor as he's being hurled from wall to wall by an invisible force to break every bone in his body.

The apartment building where the murders took place naturally finds trouble getting new tenants. In charge of taking care of it is Max (Gil McKinney). He lives there with his two sisters, the sickly Rose (Jadie Hobson) and the self-centered Lisa (Johanna Braddy) who's about to go on internship in New York. Unfortunately for them, the horrible curse that earlier brought mayhem to the place is back to haunt it anew. Apparitions show up again and a strange force is rampaging in the building with blood-curdling screams and filling up the eye sockets of its victims with the film's trademark black hair.

The three siblings are naturally frightened. Dr. Sullivan then visits them and tells them about what happened to the victims in the first two "Grudge" flicks. A mysterious woman from Tokyo also comes along claiming she knows how to combat the curse. She's Nakeo, the sister of the ghost Kayako. In a series of flashbacks, she talks about the myth of soul eaters who cause the curse. But can she really stop "Grudge" forever?

"Grudge 3" is now directed by an American, Toby Wilkins. The first two are by Japanese director Takashi Shimizu. Wilkins tries his best to continue with the fright tactics employed by Shimizu, like the terrifying ghost attacks that still deliver quite a punch especially to viewers who watch horror flicks for a good scare. Wilkins' techniques are more aggressive, so be ready to be jolted in a lot of scenes. He also tries to make the franchise sound more serious by introducing this "soul eating" theme. The final 15 or 20 minutes of the movie is drenched in horrifying schlock blood and gore so, if you're squeamish, get ready to feel sick. Nothing much is required from the actors except to look terrified, so don't expect Oscar winning performances here. But the film has good production design and the high-strung music succeeds to highlight the film's boo moments quite efficiently.
