Patrick Garcia says he will return to showbiz only after he has seen his son, Baby Jazz. It seems this will never happen as his former squeeze, Jennylyn Mercado, is adamant in her decision not to show the baby to him at all. Patrick says he has done everything for Jen to show the baby to him but all his efforts proved to be futile. He could have gone to Jen’s place and seen the baby while she was away in the US but he didn’t do this. "I want to show her that I respect her at gusto kong may approval niya kapag nakipagkita ako sa anak namin," he adds. "I’m praying she’d realize that it’s not just about her or me anymore but it’s about the baby and how we can give him a better future even if we’re not together anymore."

While he’s not active in showbiz, Patrick earns a living working for his dad’s company in Laguna. His dad might retire next year and is thinking of leaving the business to him. "So now, I’m trying to learn how to run the business," he says.

He’s currently being linked to Glaiza de Castro but he says they’re just friends and he’s not wooing her at all.

"I don’t think I’m ready yet to get into another relationship. As of now, I just want to enjoy life."

Will Devaughn is now one of the country’s hottest hunks. He started doing TV commercials then joined "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition" where his boyish smile and sculpted physique gained him a lot of fans. He ended in the Top 4. He was introduced in the first "Desperadas" movie as Patrick, Marian Rivera’s boyfriend. Now, he’s reunited with Marian not only in the sequel "Desperadas 2" but also as endorsers of Jag Black Jeans. They were together at the launching last week of www.jag-jeans.com, the Jag website, at Mall of Asia. Will was linked to Riza Santos when they were in PBB Celebrity Edition. How are they now?

"We’re still friends but I haven’t seen her for quite a while," he says. "I see Marian more frequently these days kahit Kapuso siya at Kapamilya ako. It’s because of our Jag endorsement and at the shooting of ‘Desperadas 2.’ In the first movie, we’re just engaged. In the sequel, we’re now married and encountering some of the problems that newlyweds usually experience."

He says he’s loveless and he prefers it that way as he really wants to make good in his showbiz career. He’s in the new Judy Ann Santos soap, "Habang May Buhay." He has also just finished an international film with Hollywood star Michael Madesn, "Road Raiders." He’s also part of the Cover Boys in "ASAP." He’s also cultivating his career as a singer and will soon record his first album to be released early next year, with top songwriters doing songs for him.

Aside from Jag Black Jeans, he’s also endorsing Barcelona Brandy, Belo Medical Group and Nesvita.

The OctoArts sex comedy entry, "One Night Only," is about the hilarious "sexcapades" of various characters in a motel and writer-director Joey Reyes wants to stress that the rumor that all the sex-filled misadventures portrayed in it are all based on his own personal motel experiences is simply not true. "’Yung iba lang," he laughs. "The other stories are based on the experiences of other friends at ‘yung kay Alex de Rossi na extrang tinangay sa set ng isang aktor happened on the set of a movie I did, ‘Kung Ako Na Lang Sana.’ Biglang nawala ‘yung isang aktor ko, dinala pala samotel ‘yung extra."

The various interwoven stories in it revolve on Katrina Halili as a golddigger who has a congressman (Ricky Davao) and a Chinese businessman as lovers, Alessandra de Rossi as the extra who’s taken to the motel by an action star (Paolo Contis) for a one-night stand, Jennylyn Mercado as the lover of a lesbian (Manilyn Reynes) and Joross Gamboa as the kept boy of a homosexual (Chokoleit), and Diana Zubiri and Valerie Concepcion as two girls who don’t know they’re sharing the same hunk (Jon Avila). So which is the character he can identify with?

"Si Diana who, after going to bed, asks Jon: "Will you still respect me?"

It’s said that "One Night Only" is up against "Desperadas 2" as they’re both comedies about five women.

"Ay, hindi, magkaiba sila kasi itong ‘One Night Only’ happens only in the course of nine hours in a motel. We used the Tripoli Motel in Marcos Highway as our set."

Who shone the most in the movie?

"All of them are good, wala akong naging problema. But I realized that Katrina is really most effective as a comedienne. The funniest players are Manilyn and Chokoleit as the lesbian and gay managers na nagpalit ng dates nila to get inside the motel. Kunwari, si Joross ang kay Mane at si Jennylyn kay Chokoleit. Ang nangyari, sina Joross at Jen ang nagkagustuhan. Naawa naman ako kay Jon Avila kasi about 40% of the film, he’s just in his briefs as this man who tries to please two women in bed. But he’s not conscious at all dahil siguro sanay mag-model ng briefs. I assure the viewers tatawa sila sa ‘One Night Only’ from start to finish."

Joey is this year’s most prolific mainstream director having done five films: "When Love Begins," "Monster Mom," "One Night Only," "Magkaibigan" (another filmfest entry) and "Civil Status: Single" which will be shown next year. He’s also all set to start the Richard Gutierrerz-KC Concepcion Valentine movie to be shot in a beautiful resort in Coron, Palawan. In 2009, he wants to buy his own digital camera to make his own indie film, preferably the story of violinist Ernest Vallejo who was held captive by the Japanese in Fort Santiago during World War II.

Paolo Bediones is celebrating his tenth year as one of the country’s best TV hosts. As a thanksgiving, he held a Christmas party for the press last Tuesday raffling off prizes from cash to appliances.

As a host, he has won all the possible awards in whatever kind of show he has hosted, whether it be game, quiz, showbiz-oriented, travel and reality.

As part of his 10th anniversary, he plans to hold a seminar for aspiring hosts and write a book, "Hosting 101: A Hosting Manual," plus stage a major birthday special that will showcase not only his interviewing but also his musical skills. He also intends to be more active in acting.

"I’ve been so blessed and I will forever be grateful to all the people who helped me and my career all these years," he says.

Is it true he’s at odds with Ryan Agoncillo because their shows, "Pinoy Fear Factor" and "Survivor," are competing with each other?

"May ganyan ngang intriga but we’re not affected as we’ve been friends for a long time. I was even the one who recommended Ryan to be a host in ‘Unang Hirit.’ Pareho kaming masaya na maganda ang takbo ng aming shows. Also, his manager, Noel Ferrer, kinuha ko na rin to help me in my own career."

How about the rumor that he’s walking down the aisle next year with beauty queen inamorata Abby Cruz?

"Hindi pa. Two years pa muna siguro. Marami pa akong dapat ayusin sa buhay ko."

"Survivor" is ending on December 12 and all the castaways were present at Paolo’s party.
