PJ, et al, wasted talents at Viva?

WHY does Viva Artist Agency keep on signing-up more and more new talents when no movie projects or TV shows were made for most of them?

The company has signed up new recruits namely Jamilla Obispo, a former PBB housemate, Biboy Ramirez, Kirby de Jesus, both former GMA stars, Jay Perillo of "Are You The Next Big Star?" and Marissa Maristela who is the younger sister of Regine Tolentino.

While Viva has produced a number of stars who made it big time, they too have forgotten some talents which they got like DM Sevilla, a former Star Circle Quest star on ABS-CBN, Alex Barles, a former "Close Up to Fame" finalist also from ABS CBN and PJ Valerio, a co-host of German 'Kuya Germs' Moreno in GMA7's Walang Tulugan, and who is still waiting a long while for a project which Viva can easily give.

Although PJ has been busy with a youth-oriented show on TV 5 and was part of SOP in GMA 7 including stage plays under Stages Production under Direk Audie Gemora, Repertory Philippines directed by Baby Barredo and Joy Virata and Trumpets directed by Freddie Santos, he has been waiting for the bigger break as a Viva artist.

There are more names that had not been given any break at all.

Having many talents is a good business strategy. However, would Viva waste the chance of harnessing the talents of budding artists under its care by being too cautious and investing only on famous names? Or would it ever take the risk of bankrolling yet unknown artists in highly creative projects? Just asking...

A LONG WAY TO GO FOR CHARICE
IF there is one thing in common between Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda, it is their meteoric rise to stardom via youtube. com.

With just one click of the mouse, the world came to know Charice and Arnel and the lives of both extremely talented singers changed forever.

What pride Arnel Pineda is to us Filipinos as he was given a documentary film by the band he never dreamt of becoming a part of. "Journey" is one of those rock bands who transcended rock and roll in the late 70's and early 80's making themselves the icons of rock music.

Their downturn in the music industry started when former lead singer Steve Perry left the band and went solo. They had trouble finding someone who could replace Steve but with the age of technology, anyone may be given a chance to change his or her life in just one click. Indeed Arnel was discovered through Youtube by the legendary rock icons when he was still with his local group.

A lot of people especially abroad have appreciated what Arnel gave to "Journey. " Recently, Arnel was honored by Oprah Winfrey for his inspirational success story.

However, it looks like Arnel's meteoric star has reached its peak but Charice has a long way to go still. Just how high would Charice go especially now that she is supported by Oprah? Just asking...

How lucky is Angelica that Derek's patient with her.

But will Derek's patience be wearing thin anytime soon? Just asking...
