| Paolo Bediones counts 10 on TVAuthor: Isah V. Red This month, Paolo Bediones celebrates a decade as television host. It also coincides with the grand finale of Survivor: Philippines tonight. Possibly the most accomplished young host in the country, Paolo kicked off a year-long 10th anniversary celebration with a get together with members of the press recently, at which time he took advantage of announcing the Grand Survivor Finale. Paolo was slightly emotional during the party, recalling how he started in the industry, after being rejected by a rival network. In a short welcome remarks to start the party, he said he is very grateful to the industry that has been good to him. Paolo has won most, if not all, awards for a host/presenter in various program formats: quiz, reality, showbiz-oriented, travel and game show given out by a variety of institutions and groups. He has also been elevated to the Hall of Fame of the Aliw Awards, an honor he has bequeathed to close buddy Ryan Agoncillo. Paolo is now being managed by Noel Ferrer and Joji Dingcong. In the press party, Paolo disclosed his 10th anniversary plans which include conducting a hosting seminar for aspiring and newbie hosts; writing and publishing Hosting 101: A Hosting Manual and staging a major birthday special that will showcase Paolos musical and interviewing skills. Paolo also looks forward to significant screen acting projects after stints with Richard Gutierrez on TV and Sharon Cuneta, Richard Gomez and Bong Revilla on film. Ive been so blessed and I will forever be grateful to all the people who have helped and supported me all these years. In turn, I hope to share these blessings and mentor more people who have the drive for excellence and the right attitude towards media work, said Paolo. Fun in One Night Only Writer-director Jose Javier Reyes had nothing but fun working with the stars involved in the filmfest entry One Night Only. He describes the movie about five girls free-spirited and money hungry Jasmine, a naïve-looking extra named Angela, Vicky, and Vivian, a friend of Jasmine. The girls are played on screen by Katrina Halili, Jennylyn Mercado, Diana Zubiri, Valerie Concepcion, and Alessandra de Rossi. They are all luka-luka, he said, laughter punctuating his sentences. I dont remember getting angry at anyone of them. We were all having fun. The movie is inspired by real-life experiences of the director and some of his friends. I always hear stories from friends about their or their friends encounters and most of them are really horribly funny. One Night Only, he said, happens as the title suggests. The characters intersect in the movie, and the beauty of it all, they all know each other.
