IF the party galore we keep getting invited to as Christmas approaches, Ian F. , is an indication of what's in store for local showbiz in 2009, walang dahilan para magduda tayong 'di magiging masaya, maluwalhati at masagana ang Bagong Taon para sa ating lahat.

Last Tuesday, we were invited to four gatherings. First was the Christmas party ni Dra. Vicki Belo sa Kimono Ken, T. Morato, where the grand prize was won by Ricky Lo.

Ang anak ni Dra. Belo na si Cristalle Henares ang namahala ng affair. This charming daughter ni Dra. Belo, Ian F. , is getting to be a wizard when it comes to dealing with the movie press.

Assisting her were our dear friends Leah Salterio, promotions and publicity head ng Belo Group, Lolit Solis and her assistant, Gorgy Rula.

We were at Paolo Bediones' thanksgiving party next. Ginanap naman ito sa Windmills & Rainforest, near ABS-CBN.

Umaapaw sa rami ang appliances na ipina-raffle ni Paolo. We asked him if reports are true na magpapakasal na sila ng kanyang beauty queen-girlfriend (Abby Cruz) next year.

Ang sagot ni Paolo, baka in two years' time pa.

O, ayan, maliwanag, ha?

One of Paolo's special guests sa party was Patani, yes, one of the cast-offs sa reality show na Survivor Philippines sa GMA-7.

Star na star na ang dating ni Patani, otherwise known as the "Pambansang Yaya. "

Well, star na ngang talaga siya, considering na mainstay na siya ng sitcom na Ful Haus, na pinangungunahan nina Vic Sotto at Pia Guanio.

KAHIT kelan, nakaaaliw kausap si Direk Joey Reyes. Sa interview niya kami sunod na pumunta after Paolo's party sa imbitasyon ni Shirley Pizarro.

Direk Joey is the director of One Night Only, ang Metro Manila filmfest entry ng OctoArts Films.

Bida sa nasabing pelikula sina Katrina Halili, Alessandra de Rossi, Valerie Concepcion, Jennylyn Mercado at Diana Zubiri.

Guess what nga pala Valerie and Jennylyn have in common maliban sa they share the same talent manager, si Becky Aguila?

Well, they are both single parents. Valerie to Fiona, who turned four years old recently. And Jennylyn to Jazz, na magta-tatlong buwan pa lamang.

One Night Only also stars Ricky Davao, Paolo Contis, Jon Avila, Manilyn Reynes and Chokoleit.

Tonight columnist Ogie Diaz is also part of the cast.

We capped the day by attending the Christmas party of ABS-CBN, kung saan talaga namang bonggang-bongga ang attendance ng press.

They were all well-attended to, in fairness to ABS-CBN's corporate PR, headed by Bong Osorio.

K Brosas and Empoy Marquez hosted the program, na karamihan sa mga performer ay produkto ng katatapos na Pinoy Dream Academy.

Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN vice president for entertainment, personally thanked the members of the press.

She was with Chit Guerrero, head ng special projects ng Dos.

Did you know that Cory and Chit previously worked together for Vilma Santos' show on GMA-7?
