Actor Phillip Salvador is now sporting a bald head for his role as a villain in his upcoming movie with Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.

"Para sa role ko sa 'Panday,'" said the actor of his shaved head.

On Sunday afternoon Salvador attended Ricardo "Ricky" Lee's book launching at SM Megamall Powerbooks. Lee has launched the revised edition of "Si Tatang At Mga Himala Ng Ating Panahon."

Salvador will play a contrabida role in the newest movie version of "Panday," which made popular by the late King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr.

The cast and crew began shooting late April. The fantasy film has a Metro Manila Film Festival playdate but some people in the know said it might be shown in November.

Movie enthusiast Pol del Mundo, a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, had his book signed by Salvador. He commented on Salvador's look: "Kamukha ka na ng tatay mo."

Del Mundo was referring to the late talent manager and a stage show impresario Lou Salvador Sr.

Aside from Salvador, actress Chanda Romero, young actor Dingdong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Vangie Labalan, Nanding Josef, Allan Paule, Robbie Domingo, Jaclyn Jose, and singer Ogie Alcasid attended the launching and read excerpts from the book.

Lee dedicated his book to superstar Nora Aunor, who celebrated her birthday last May 21. He also paid tribute to Aunor's 1982 film "Himala."
