Polo at his best, Bitoy at his funniest

RAVALES RECOGNITION - Polo Ravales is on Cloud Nine these days... ever since he learned he was nominated best actor by the FAMAS for 'Walang Kawala,' directed by Joel Lamangan and produced by Manny Valera. The hard work dedication paid off.

The 'Walang Kawala' role wasn't easy, a fisherman who's passionately in love with another man, a recent high school graduate, played by Joseph Bitangcol. When his beloved got entangled in a white slavery syndicate, Ravales comes to the rescue. Daring and baring Polo and Joseph went.

Also nominated in supporting categories for 'Walang Kawala' were Emilio Garcia and Jean Garcia.

GRATEGUL - Joel has directed Polo in 'Blue Moon,' 'Silip,' 'Manay Po 2,' and 'Pacquiao.' Polo expresses his thanks to Manny and Joel, "I'm forever grateful."

The FAMAS awards night will be held Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Pagcor Grand Theater in Parañaque.

Polo just renewed his exclusive contract with GMA, where he's a mainstay of the toprating 'Darna.' He plays the main villain in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry 'Wapakman,' topbilled by boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

BITOY HUMOR - The Bitoy (Michael V) humor goes international in 'SHOwwwTIME,' which airs starting tonight on GMA. This time, the multi-talented and multi-faceted Bitoy is a futuristic emperor linking up with Pinoys abroad via the internet.

In the Videokariran portion of the talent show, funny and uproarrious uploaded on www.bitoystv.com will be highlighted. The sender of the funniest video will be named "internet-ional star," will have a chance to win special prizes.

Michael V is funny on screen, big and small, but it said he'll be at his funniest in 'Bitoy's SHOwwwTIME.'

COURT JESTER - His sidekick, the loyal court jester of his majesty, is Mang Enriquez, spoofing newscaster Mike Enriquez of '24 Oras' and 'Imbestigador' fame.

Other portions of 'SHOwwwTIME': Talbugan, Facemuk, Gaya Mo 'Yun, all meant to tap Pinoy talents here and abroad, be they singing, dancing, clowning, magic - whatever.
