Pops: Differences with Jomari showed during concert work

Pops Fernandez told SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon that differences between her and actor Jomari Yllana developed while working on their project, the concert with former husband Martin Nievera.

When asked by host Boy Abunda on the reasons for the break-up, Fernandez said in the second installment of the interview shown on Tuesday, "Siguro kasi, the latter part, we were really pressured without wanting to be, siyempre when you're working on a project....And siguro na-discover namin na there were so many differences, because we've never worked together."

"Siguro it's also a big adjustment, for us, in our relationship. Kasi nga it's just usually I work, I do my thing, and he works and then he does his thing," Fernandez said.

"It's a different world for us. All of a sudden, iba na yung pinag-uusapan namin, pareho kaming involved, tapos pareho din kami ng pressures," she added.

Money issue

Fernandez also clarified rumors that they split up due to financial matters related to the concert.

Yllana allegedly borrowed P500,000 from Fernandez because he needed to pay some things for the concert, including talent fees. However, Fernandez said Yllana never borrowed money from her.

"Wala kaming ever na naging problema sa pera," she said. "Hindi talagang totoong nanghiram siya na P500,000."

As producer, Fernandez said she helped Yllana by talking to musicians and other talents for the show.

"Out of all the other reasons I can think of, that's never even in the top 100 list or whatever, even 500 list, kasi wala talaga akong maisip na time ever na nagkaroon kami ng diperensiya sa pera," she added.

Jealousy

When asked if jealousy during the concert was purportedly one of the reasons for the break-up, Fernandez said "The concert was more like moving on. I'm moving on, and he's (Martin) moving on, and we're just happy for each other."

"Sana hindi. Because sana I was able to assure him that this is totally different...on stage. But when we're back to normal, offstage, I would hope I gave him an assurance. And I'm hoping it's not that, and I don't think so," she added.

In response to the SNN interview with Fernandez, Douglas Quijano, Yllana's manager said through a text message: "Pops and Jom have already talked and there's already closure. An adult ending to an adult relationship. Time to move on."
