Kahit hindi pabuloso ang venue, all those who came, including those na maituturing na spectators lang, were dressed properly. They were all well-behaved, too. Hindi sila kailangang i-cajole para pumalakpak after every number, lalo't during the awarding ceremony. Ganunpaman, ang may mga pinakabonggang kasuotan ay sina Piolo Pascual, Dawn Zulueta, Mariel Rodriguez at Pops Fernandez, hosts ng programa. In fact, dalawang ulit pang nag-change ng kani-kanilang gowns sina Dawn, Mariel at Pops. All four hosts seemed to have properly prepared for the job assigned to them. At least, wala kaming napansing pumalpak sa kanila. Yes, including Mariel, na maituturing na "pro" when it comes to hosting a formal event like the Star Awards. * * * We all know na at one time, si Ara ang babae sa buhay ni Jomari Yllana, now Pops' boyfriend. More intriga about Pops: She was caught in the controversy involving Dawn and Gretchen Barretto three years back. Dawn was named Celebrity Mom of the Night, a special award given by the PMPC. Napili namang Female Face of the Night si Pops, at si Piolo ang Male Face of the Night. Actually, two awards ang natanggap ni Piolo, the other one was Male Fab (for fabulous) of the Night where he went home P10,000 richer. Maja Salvador emerged as Piolo's female counterpart. Actually, napakaganda nga ni Maja ng gabing iyon. John Lloyd Cruz may not have gone home with the Best Actor trophy for One More Chance (si Paolo Contis ang nanalo for Banal), but he was richer by P10,000 dahil siya ang napiling Star of the Night. * * * Cathy Garcia-Molina, Best Director for One More Chance, confessed na 'di niya akalaing nakaka-nerbiyos ang tumanggap ng award. Direk Cathy is at the helm of the soon-to-be-released John Lloyd-Sarah Geronimo starrer, A Very Special Love. It was definitely a "first", too, for Ai-Ai de las Alas, adjudged Best Actress for Ang Cute ng Ina Mo. Ditto with Euguene Domingo, Best Supporting Actress winner for Pisay. Paolo bagged the Best Actor trophy, his first to win a major acting award, for Banal. Emilio Garcia, Best Supporting Actor, said worth it ang pagpunta niya sa awards night. * * * Congrats, too, to Sylvia Sanchez for producing a show na orderly at fabulously attended by showbiz personalities who still believe na may glamour at kakaibang kasayahan pa ring dala ang mga ganitong okasyon. May your tribes increase. Source: People's Tonight |
