Precious Lara Quigaman has no plans of returning to 'Wowowee' Author: Rachelle Siazon To Precious Lara Quigaman, hosting is a career that's really close to her heart. But even though Willie Revillame has asked her to return to Wowowee, she chose to turn down his offer in favor of an acting stint on May BukasPa and another upcoming ABS-CBN soap. "Yeah, Kuya Willie told me nung nag-promote ako ng Turismo Pilipinas, ' O balik ka na sa Monday ha.' So I took it as an invitation. And all the staff asked me, ' Ano babalik ka na ba? Pinapabalik ka na ah.' Pero hindi, hindi ako babalik kasi may mga projects ako na na-commitan na. Obviously hindi ako pwedeng mag-Monday to Saturday kasi may taping ako," she explained to ABS-CBN.com in an interview last January 28. Though acting is not really new to her, Lara admitted that working on a soap entails a different discipline from her prvious TV projects (i.e. Maalaala Mo Kaya and That's My Doc among others). " Namimiss ko rin naman ang paghohost kasi unang-una madali lang yung work eh. You go there, after that you're finished. Tapos you can say whatever you want during the show. Unlike sa acting na kapag kailangan mong umiyak, parang wait lang ha. Kailangan mo talagang mag-internalize. Pero it's fun eh. Hindi ko in-expect na I would enjoy it as much as I am enjoying now." Looking back on how she was dismissed from Wowowee last year, Lara reaffirmed that she was not at fault, contrary to what rumormongers were saying. "It's okay. I don't mind answering that [question] because I've answered it before. The reason that they told me kung bakit ako tinanggal ni Kuya Willie was because nagsama ako ng boyfriend and my mom saHawaii. Yun daw yung reason. Pero other than that, was I late? I was not. Was I being a problem? I was not. That's the only reason which personally ako I didn't see that as a reason kasi there was no rule. Unwritten rule daw pero how can it be a rule if it's not written 'di ba?" she reasoned She also clarified that there was no house rule that stated such a prohibition either. "No kasi I asked eh if I am allowed to bring my mom with me even before I left. Sabi sa akin ng EP (executive producer), 'Yes as long as hindi sila makakagulo.' Eh I didn't ask help naman para sa visa and all that." When asked if she mentioned that fact to the Wowowee heads back during the whole controversy, Lara refused to elaborate on the matter. "There are some things [that] I can't say." But even after all that has happened, she stressed that there is no reason for her to regret anything. " Hindi naman ako nanghihinayang kasi tapos na siya eh. [There's] so much more to look forward to para manghinayang sa isang bagay na wala na." Yet despite the lack of formal reconciliation between them, Lara claimed that she and Willie are on good terms now. " Wala na. I don't think so. Ako wala sa akin, I don't know about him. Pero hindi kami nag-usap ng masinsinan afterwards. We never really texted or called each other on the phone. The only time na nagkita kami was when I promoted Turismo Pilipinas on Wowowee. But I guess wala na rin sa kanya yun since he allowed us to guest there. In fact, he was the one who was hosting the segment nung nandun kami," she revealed. Lara admitted that she really felt happy to be back on the show then because she was able to see her former colleagues who have been like a family to her. "It was a nice feeling to see everyone na nagtitilian, yung mga crew ha, kasi parang sobrang namiss namin yung isa't-isa kasi everyday ba naman kaming magkasama dati. So it was really a good feeling to be back. And minsan kapag nandito ako sa ABS-CBN, dumadalaw ako sa mga girls (Mariel Rodriguez, Pokwang, and Valerie Concepcion). Pero never ko naman siya (Willie) nakikita kasi may sarili siyang dressing room eh lagi naman siyang nakakulong. Pero all the other staff pinupuntahan ko sila," she maintained. Would she consider going back to Wowowee if Willie tries to convince her? "We'll see. You know, I would love to pero siguro this time I would like to try something else," she answered with a smile.
