Psychic predicts more tragedy for local showbiz

MANILA - Two deaths, unplanned pregnancies and a possible accident. If showbiz psychic Madam Suzette Arandela is to be believed, these and more are just some of the tragedies that will dominate local showbiz news before the end of the year.

Arandela, who rose to fame when she predicted that Fidel V. Ramos would win the 1992 presidential elections, said she sees more grief ahead for our local showbiz stars.

"May pagluluksa. Isang veteran actor and actress ang mamamatay at kung hindi mag-iingat ang isang young star ay mauulit ang isang car accident at maaaring ikamatay nito," she said.

Pregnancies will remain an issue among young actresses, she sadly prophesized. "May mabubuntis na mga young stars at may biglaang secret weddings sa dalawang adult stars," she said.

She also predicted several trends that will continue to dominate local showbiz.

One, local filmmakers will still focus on horror and comedy but drama and action will also earn big at the tills. Filipino actors and filmmakers, according to her, will be recognized in international film festivals.

Love teams will continue to dominate the scene with the bankable love partners in Angel Locsin and Sam Milby, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, Rhian Ramos and Richard Gutierrez, Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica and Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.

Local telenovelas will continue to outshine foreign soap operas on TV, she foresaw.

Musical bands will continue to be popular to the youth, which bodes well for groups like Cueche, Hale, Parokya ni Edgar, Spongecola, Callalily and many more.

Natural, man-made calamities

Arandela also foretold calamities to still hit the country before the year ends.

She said natural calamities such as typhoons will continue to take lives before the year ends.

Cha-cha to happen after 2010

In politics, Arandela said there would be shifting of alliances and political parties.

The proposed Constitutional Assemby will not push through, she said. Bababa si Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo pagkatapos ng kanyang term," she said.

She said some business sectors will continue to suffer the effects of the global recession.
