| | Reb Sibal works hard to reach his dream Author: Bernie Franco Among the 20 show biz hopefuls of Star Circle Batch 16, Reb Sibal is probably one of the luckiest among his batch. But for this young man, luck isn't the main thing that got him into the business. Reb knows that he has to work hard to get to the top. Back in 2006, Reb won the Close-Up 2 Fame model contest aired on ABS-CBN. His prize included a commercial for the said toothpaste and a whopping half-a-million pesos. However, the moreno aspirant failed to penetrate show biz despite his big win. "Nag-expect po ako na after winning the Close-Up 2 Fame contest, magkakaroon ako ng career," Reb shared. Eventually though Reb signed up as an artist for Viva Entertainment and was given a projects in another network. However after taping a drama series, the lead star of the show Valerie Concepcion transferred to ABS-CBN. The project was shelved and what could have been his big break, disappeared. Reb felt it wasn't his time just yet. "Naiwan akong luhaan dahil wala po akong career," he said smiling. "Eh, kailangan nating magtrabaho kaya bumalik ako sa modeling, fashion shows, events and commercials." When audition season for Pinoy Big Brother came around early this year, Reb tried to push his luck once again. The next thing he knew, Star Magic was offering him to join the newest Star Circle batch. It was the moment Reb has been waiting for. Reb is now part of the drama series, Iisa Pa Lamang, which is why he was immediately recognized when Star Circle Batch 16 was introduced to the press. But things are just starting for him. "Kung dumating 'yung PBB, sobrang suwerte," he revealed. "Dumating po itong Star Magic, suwerte na. Sa dinami-dami po ng pumipila (para makapasok sa show biz), can you imagine na isa ako sa nabigyan ng pagkakataon pagkatapos kong mawala ng two years?" Although his first attempt in show biz failed, Reb has proven that not giving up on your dream would eventually get you there. And hopefully Reb will be reaping the fruits of his hard labor soon.
