Richard and Lucy looking for new manager

THEY used to have a sitcom on ABS-CBN 2 titled Richard and Lucy years ago. So, does she miss working with Richard?

“Personally, I don’t since I don’t really see myself as an actress,” says Lucy. “That experience is enough. I’m more comfortable with hosting like what I do in Shall We Dance and The Sweet Life. But if I were to make a film with Richard, I want to breathe life to the role of Dawn (Zulueta) in Hihintayin Kita sa Langit. Among my husband’s films, that one stands out.”

“The idea is just fine, if there’s an offer, why not? I want to work with my wife again in a show, preferably a sitcom. I think she’s funny in her own way,” Richard says.

With Douglas Quijano now in another dimension, the couple is searching for a manager. Recently, it was reported that Star Magic top honcho Johnny Manahan is a likely candidate.

“Actually, he is one strong choice. But nothing is concrete yet. Four of us in Doug’s stable are actually looking for a new manager. Apart from myself and Lucy, there’s also Joey Marquez and Jomari Yllana while the rest have sought the help of other well-known talent scouts. I hope we’ll be able to find one as soon as possible since it’s hard to close deals ourselves,” admits Richard.

The latest buzz have it that he’s planning to run as representative in Ormoc this coming 2010 elections.

“Oh, it would depend on my performance in the survey. I need to have two surveys first. It’s very important to me. It’s a snapshot of where you’re at.”

Why Ormoc?

“I believe it holds a big potential to become a great province someday. For one, it has lots to offer like its lovely beaches. Tourism there needs a boost. You will not believe it but I spend more time in Ormoc than in Manila. I’m there four days in a week. There’s a direct flight anyway so it’s easy.

“Many people there are talking to me, even Lucy’s father. They are encouraging me to run for Congress. I’ve learned to love Ormoc and if there’s really a need for some changes, I will run. But as I’ve stated earlier, I need to figure out prominently in the survey first before I can make my decision!”

Goma’s next project for GMA-7 is the second season of Family Feud. He will start taping come September.

Kapuso in Kapamilya turf

Dingdong Dantes recently set foot on ABS-CBN grounds to the surprise of many. He was there for the taping of MYX.

“Yes! I’ll be their guest VJ for this month. This is in line with the promotion of my debut music video album under Universal records titled The Dingdong Dantes Experience,” he says.

The popular heartthrob wants to make it clear that he’s got no plans of transferring.

“I don’t want to make any misleading impression. I’m very happy with GMA-7. In fact, I can’t wait to start with my next program for them, the remake of the hit Koreanovela Stairway to Heaven. I just thought that my guest appearance in MYX would help in my album’s sales. It’s a big honor too that they considered me as their guest VJ this August.”

There was no uneasiness in Dong’s part when he was inside the Kapamilya camp.

“Actually, it’s a nice feeling. Everyone was warm to me. It helps that I’ve been a semi-regular host on Keep on Dancing way back then,” he reveals.

Asked what his reaction would be if by chance, he’d see Karylle on the hallway or corridor, the hunky actor states:

“Definitely, I’ll not evade her. I’m not afraid to meet her. There’s nothing to be afraid of in the first place. What will I tell her if ever our paths cross? That she’s got a nice place in here.”

No boyfriend

Bea Alonzo doesn’t want to put herself under pressure when it comes to having a new boyfriend after Mico Palanca.

“It’s not that I’m already afraid to fall in love. Perhaps, I just want to be more cautious the next time around. I guess I’ve already learned my mistakes from my previous relationship,” she starts.

The pretty actress says she’s so busy with her career at this point.

“Yes, that’s why I don’t have the time to search for Mr. Right. My schedule won’t allow it. But on the other hand, it also has an advantage since I get to spend more time with friends now unlike during my one-and-a-half year relationship with Mico before. I’m making up for lost grounds, so to speak. In short, I also missed the single life.”

But this doesn’t mean that Bea isn’t looking for a new love.

“Of course, I also miss being in a relationship. At least, you have someone whom you can talk to after a whole day’s work. Someone who will ask you if you’ve already eaten or if you’re feeling okay. And one thing more, most of my friends in ASAP are couples, so I leave ahead of them since they have their own plans too. It’s good that my siblings are staying in my place now to keep me company. That way, I don’t feel alone,” avers the competent young actress.

What characteristics does she look for in a guy?

“Actually, nothing in particular, as long as I feel the spark go! I’m one person who believes in destiny; that there’s really someone waiting for you in this lifetime.”

Many of their fans wish that she and John Lloyd Cruz would end up with each other.

“I love Lloydie as a friend. But as sweethearts, I guess we won’t click. I’m not his type to start with. He could’ve pursued me before but no. We don’t have things in common. We’re two opposite individuals with separate beliefs and perspectives,” ends Bea.

Not bothered by ratings

Geoff Eigenmann is not bothered with the general observation that his primetime show Rosalinda opposite Carla Abellana isn’t rating that high.

“It’s just fine. Anyway, we just started. It’s barely a month since we started airing. We still have a lot of time to improve the story. We just need to explore the characters more. Eventually, I’m positive our ratings will improve,” he says.

People are curious to know how GMA-7 is reacting to the ratings of Rosalinda.

“So far, we’ve been hearing positive remarks from the management. They’re very encouraging.”

The good-looking actor cites the fact that there are a lot of good programs in the primetime block.

“Oh yes! It’s a hotly-contested block. All the shows are doing their best to come up with excellent episodes. I’m just happy with the fact that Rosalinda’s ratings are improving day by day. It’s in an upward mode. It’s better than starting high then the ratings gradually drop, right?” ends Geoff.
