Richard wants to do a hard action movie

MATINEE idol Richard Gutierrez is still the man to beat when it comes to popularity and bankability. He ended the year with a big bang via "Codename: Asero " where he played a cyborg.

Richard is the type of an actor who is definitely not de cajon. He defies typecasting. You name the character and he has done it with conviction: a snakeman, a mysterious martial arts fighter, a suicidal son, a young guy haunted by a ghost, an international thief and would you believe, a janitor, the most handsome ever.

Nor is he also identified with just one leading lady. He has romanced on the giant screen the likes of Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera and of course, KC Concepcion.

Richard and KC are now back in each other's arms as shooting for "When I Met You" began. Honestly, couldn't they think of another title which doesn't sound like other movie titles in the past? Directed by Joel Lamangan, the romantic comedy is geared for a Valentine release.

For the record, Joel has directed Richard in one of the Mano Po films. This would be the first time he would meg KC but then he has handled many of her mom, Sharon Cuneta's starrers for Viva Films.

On television, Richard plays the legendary Zorro, hero of the oppressed, Pinoy version. He wears a mask, rides a horse and engages in swordfight. And yes, romances lovely ladies. Zorro starts airing in January.

Currently, Richard hosts Full Force Nature which urges people to keep our planet clean and green.

The bankability of Richard continues with the rising number products he is endorsing.

Without question, it will be another busy 2009 for Richard who hopes to star in a hard action movie where he will get the chance to show his martial arts expertise.

OLYMPIAN TRAINS PIOLO, ANGEL
Ricky Davao as an Australian rancher? Well, let's hear the Aussie accent when the movie "Love Me Again" is shown mid-January 2009. In the story, he employs Arah (Angel Locsin) and develops a fondness for her.

The movie topbills Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin, their first time together on the big screen. It is partially shot in Australia because that's what the story calls for.

Actually, two exotic locations were explored in filming Love Me Again. One is Bukidnon, located in Mindanao. Research shows that there are cowboys in the country and they are found in this province. Second location is Darwin, Australia where there is now an existing Filipino community.

For the movie, Piolo and Angel trained intensively for horseback riding under Olympian Vic Barba.

BEST ACTOR FOR A WOMAN ROLE?
DESPERADAS 2 might as well be the local answer to the movie Sex and the City which also features four fabulous Hollywood beauties.

You talk of fashion, shoes, make-up and accessories, all these are contained in Desperadas 2. Plus the sex appeal of Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado and Marian Rivera. All four are out for the sex tag. Who among the four do you think is the ultimate sex symbol?

Another toprating foreign show from which Desperadas is probably culled from is Desperate Housewives since all four have their own personal longings.

And don't forget the fifth femme fatale in this sexy and hilarious movie which will make your viewing more enjoyable. Ogie Alcasid plays his role as a woman so convincingly making people predict that he will bag the Best Actor trophy come awards night. If he did not win last night, maybe in the other award giving ceremonies.
