Richard’s impressive TVC

YOUNG actor Richard Gutierrez and “Wowowee” girl Valerie Concepcion are respectively endorsing products that are both affordable and 100 percent Pinoy.

Aside from his immense popularity, why was Richard chosen in the re-launching of Unique toothpaste?

Alfonso C. Supetran, president of ACS Manufacturing Corp. says they were presented with a line-up of possible celebrity endorsers and finally decided on Richard.

“He embodies health, physical strength and cleanliness which is what Unique is all about. Regularly used, it keeps your teeth clean, strong and healthy,” he explains.

Unique toothpaste has been in the market for the past 13 years and had a female host as endorser. Unfortunately, her endorsement did not help improve the sale.

A very impressive and action-packed TVC was shown during the launch (which took quite a time to start) at the Mandarin Suites in Gateway. In the TVC, Richard displays the fighting skills that garnered him a huge following as Captain Barbell and Mulawin. It opens with Richard in a red tunnel and speaking directly to the camera in a white workout gear. What seems like a tunnel is a computer-generated replica of the interior of the mouth with row of white lights above and below representing teeth.

The actor emerged in the role of Unique while a fighter in black takes on the role of his adversary, tooth decay. The single adversary suddenly multiplies and the action commences. Richard demonstrates how the product works through series of throws, kicks and fancy stunts which the actor performed without the aid of a body double.

Out of delicadeza, Richard did not name the brand of toothpaste he was using before. “Mumog lang,” he laughingly quips.

An actor smiles a lot and when kissing scenes are required, good hygiene is very important to him. According to Richard, this is where Unique plays a vital role.

With Richard as celebrity endorser of the sleekly packaged Unique toothpaste, ACS Manufacturing is confident that their sales would zoom up in no time at all.

ACS Manufacturing Corporation is also the maker of the leading washing machine detergent Pride, Star Wax floorwax, Smart dishwashing detergent and mighty toilet bowl cleaner.

WHAT KEEPS VALERIE GOING

MEANWHILE, Valerie Concepcion’s exposure on “Wowowee” is one of the reasons why Aldritz Corp. , a 100-percent Filipino-owned business enterprise chose her to endorse Energo Energy Drink.

The tagline “always on the go” fits Valerie and her usage of Energo drowns exhaustion and stress at the end of the day. “Sa klase ng aking trabaho ay kaila-ngang palagi akong gising. Hindi pupwede iyong tatam-lay-tamlay. I have been drinking Energo for quite sometime and it really works for me. ,” says the lovable Valerie.

What then is to become of Janna, another “Wowowee” talent who is very much identified with the energy drink?

A clarification was made by the spokesman from Aldritz Corp. that Valerie remains to be the prime endorser with back-up support from Janna.

Not only showbiz people could benefit from Energo drink. It is best for athletes, busy professionals, active students, homemakers, dance professionals and nutrition-conscious people.

Soon a male endorser of Energo would be launched the identity of whom they would rather not reveal yet.

DISAPPOINTING TRIP
WE always take the deluxe bus of Victory Liner everytime we go to Baguio mainly because it is very comfortable and it has a toilet. The trip is also non-stop and leaves on time whether it is full or not.

On our recent trip, however, we were greatly disappointed to find out that The Company has removed such necessity. The bus personnel gave no clear reason why. We would not have mind the fare increase (from P600 plus to P710) had the CR been maintained.

Still, Baguio is our favorite place to unwind or recharge.

We found out that Insider Magazine (a sister publication of People’s Journal which PJ entertainment editor, Eugene Asis also edits) is being sold at Star Cafe, a landmark restaurant on Session Rd. Years back, many stars who go to Baguio never fail to eat at Star Cafe. The quality of their food has remained.
