Pure Energy Gary Valenciano on September 19, Saturday sa SM Mall of Asia Grounds. How does it feel na humarap sa press para sumagot sa mga tanong for the first time? "Just okay," umpisa ni Robin. "I've seen my Dad do this a lot of times. You guys ask the same questions. Hahaha!" pagbibiro pa nito. Finally ba ay magsho-showbiz na rin siya tulad ng kanyang mga magulang? " Uh, more than showbiz I just really want to write and make music. So, even if I'm not seen on camera I'll be working backstage." Kadarating lang ni Robin from the US kung saan siya ay nag-aral. Ano ang course ang kinuha niya sa US? "I took up a production course. Yeah, tapos na. Super short. Related din siya sa showbiz, mga lights, make-up, sound." Payag naman daw si Robin na mag-work as a production staff sa concert ng kanyang ama. Aminado si Robin na medyo clueless pa siya sa kanyang gagawin sa As One concert ng kanyang ama. "Honestly, honestly, no joke I really don't know what I'll gonna be doing in the show. I'm really gonna find out later. As in after this I'll be going out with Gab and talk about this. Hahaha!" Paano niya ide-describe ang father niya in one word? "Hysterical," sabay tawa ni Robin. How about Gary V? "That's hard . . . energy." Robin is 22 years old now. Magse-celebrate siya ng birthday niya on November 30. He's into hip-hop but he likes alternative rock, jazz and big band kind of music. But he is a good guitarist too. Since first time lang nakausap ng press si Robin ngayon lang malalaman ng publiko ang damdamin niya nu'ng maghiwalay ang kanyang mga magulang. "I was 12, 13, then. The very first time na-hurt ako. Ah, I go to church with lots of friends. And those guys, those people helped me out." He adds that music has also been an outlet to his emotions. "Yeah, music was always it." Paano siya naka-move on mula sa separation ng kanyang parents? "Well, ah, just accepting the fact that my mom and my dad have their own lives. So, I accepted that and I said whatever makes them both happy because I hated it when they fight, you know." Parehong loveless ngayon ang kanyang mga magulang, hindi ba siya gagawa ng hakbang para sila magkabalikan? "For me, if they get back together that's great. But if they find other people who can make them as happy as they were before, I'd still support that because I can't be selfish." Hindi naman daw sila nagalit ng kanyang kapatid na si Ram nung maghiwalay ang parents nila. " Wala namang, sana you didn't do that. Hahaha! But you know, I can't hate my dad for that. Mom, Dad and I are close. He talked to me about it. A lot of times," dagdag pa ni Robin. On his mom and dad's former relationships, sinabi ni Robin na kahit papano naka-bonding naman niya ang mga ito, like si Katrina Ojeda na ex-girlfriend ng kanyang ama. " Ah, I spend a lot of time with her. Ah, we talk, hang-out. I help her with the baby, Santino," pagbabanggit nito sa nakababatang kapatid. On Pop's side naman, open ba siya sa possibility na mag-aasawa ulit ang kanyang ina with anyone? "As long as the guy would make her happy and can support her like any husband should.
