Robin, tinanggihan ni Heart

YOU should have seen Arlene Muhlach, elder sister ni Aga Muhlach, in her time.

She was not only one of the beautiful faces among her contemporaries but one of the sexiest, too.

“I was sporting a 24 waistline then,” ani Arlene.

She agrees that one of the most memorable among the few movies she did when she was younger (she’s now 40 years old) was Huwag Mo Akong Tapakan with Maricel Soriano.

“In that movie,” Arlene recalled, “I made life miserable for Maricel. Doon niya ginamit ’yung dialogue na ‘ayaw ko ng marumi. Ayaw ko ng kung anu-ano…’ For a time, ang dialogue na iyon ay naging favorite ng mga kaibigan kong gay. ”

“So, anong nangyari?” tanong kay Arlene ng movie press during the presscon of My Only U, starring Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga and where Arlene plays a friend to Toni’s family, whose dad is the blind Dennis Padilla.

Bakit siya tumaba ng grabe?

“Along the way, tinamad ako,” sagot ni Arlene. “Naging palakain ako. Before I knew it, I was gaining weight. Na ’di ko pinansin. Bago ko nalaman, lumaki na ako nang lumaki.

“Kaya I realized now na para ’di maging overweight, itikom natin ang ating bibig sa pagkain. Eat tayo, why not? But only moderately. ”

Pero wala raw siyang regrets, so far.

As it is, happy si Arlene in her married life. Napakabait ng kanyang asawang si Warren (Dandoy) with whom she has two kids, Aliyah, six years old, and Augusto, who turned a year old this month.

She added that she cannot thank Aga enough for the kindness he showers them. Tinupad daw nito ang pangako nilang magkakapatid (siya, si Aga at si Albert) na walang matitikmang kasaganaan ang kahit sino sa kanila na ’di matitikman ng dalawa pa.

“Kaya, wherever my mom is, I believe she’s happy,” ani Arlene.

Her mom, the late Anita Muhlach, will mark her first death anniversary on Nov. 17.

Tulad ni Arlene, nagtatrabaho rin si Warren sa Duty Free Shop Philippines.

Buti’t pinapayagan siya ng kanilang boss na gumawa ng movies at lumabas sa tv, sabi ng movie press. Nasa cast din si Arlene ng malapit nang matapos na afternoon series on ABS-CBN, Ligaw na Bulaklak.

“Oo naman,” sagot ni Arlene. “Magpapaalam ka lang nang maayos. ”

Narinig mo na ba ang balitang ito, Ian F. , na nagdadalawang isip daw si Heart Evangelista na tanggapin ang role bilang asawa ni Robin Padilla sa Totoy Bato ng GMA-7?

Hindi pa raw yata ready si Heart to play the role of a wife sa TV.
