Ronnie Liang: "At last, may bahay na kami'

Author: Rachelle Siazon

All of Ronnie Liang's hard work after his unforgettable stint in Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 has indeed paid off. After two years in the biz, his debut album Ang Aking Awitin continues to reap sales and is newly repackaged due to insistent public demand plus his recently-concluded concert at the Music Museum has been declared a success. To top it all off, Ronnie has finally given his parents their dream house: a four-bedroom bungalow built in their hometown in Pampanga.
"Ayun, tapos na. Nakalipat na yung family ko. Nakakatuwa kasi at last may sarili na kaming bahay na pinagipunan ko for two years. And six months siya ginawa. Pero ang importante ngayon may bahay na kami," he proudly shares during the Star Magic catalogue launch at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.
The singer-turned-actor is truly ecstatic for his family will finally stop worrying of having nowhere to live. Apparently, they were given a notice of eviction for quite some time already by the owner of the house which they rented for 20 difficult years. "Once a month may kumakatok sa bahay namin, nire-remind kami na we have to go. Siyempre, nung time na yun 'di pa kami ready lumipat. Bukod sa dun kami nakatira almost all my life, nandun rin yung trabaho ng tatay ko, yung talyer," he reveals.
Nothing really beats the sense of pride of a son who has made his parents' dream come true, that is, to have a house which they can call their own.
At the end of our interview, Ronnie excitedly adds that his first acting role will finally be shown in I Love Betty La Fea this month. Contrary to the original plan, his character Enrique won't be a ladies' man anymore but an ex-seminarian who now works as an HR manager. His appearance is set to create a whole new twist to the day-to-day adventures in Eco Moda Manila. Yung ganon. I'm just glad because Direk Erick Salud has been very helpful when it comes to giving me instructions. Nung una kinakabahan ako pero napaka-smooth ng flow and walang pressure dahil parang matagal na kaibigan na yung turingan ng staff and ng stars dun sa show," he beams.
