| | Roxanne up to the challenge of becoming a comedienne Author: Bernie Franco Roxanne Guinoo was pleasantly surprised when Star Magic Vice President Mariole Alberto told her that she would be joining the cast of ABS-CBN's upcoming gag show Banana Split. As a matter of fact, the cast already did two days of taping when she was informed that she will be joining the femmes of the sitcoms: Angelica Panganiban, Valerie Concepcion, Cristine Reyes, Bangs Garcia, Riza Santos, RR Enriquez, Dianne Medina and Princess Ryan. "Nagulat ako na sinama ako," Roxanne said excitedly."Para naman at least ma-try kong mag-comedy or mag-sitcom. Napakagaan compared to drama. Ito yung mage-enjoy ka lang." Honed by ABS-CBN as a dramatic actress, Roxanne admits that for her, doing comedy is as hard as doing soap operas. "Sabi ni Direk Bobot (Mortiz) kahit comedy o sitcom, kailangan pa ring mag-workshop. Hindi naman porke ganun lalaruin mo lang. Mas mahirap magpatawa. Pero once marunong ka nang magpatawa magaling ka na ring mag-drama," Roxanne explained. Aside from being busy with tapings for Banana Split and afternoon soap Ligaw na Bulaklak, Roxanne is also part of the upcoming teleserye Florinda, which stars Diamond Star Maricel Soriano.
